    a sad loss.... (m/c ment)

    Hi all

its been a while since i posted on this thread. i have some bad news...
yesterday we went for our first ultrsound (8 weeks) and found our baby had no heartbeat.

its really sad, and its hard to think i am carrying my dead baby in my tummy. we were so lucky to have had a successful #1 IVF but unfortunatly not all the luck went our way. we dont want to know why it happened, because it wont make it come back. we just want to let it be and look to the future rather than dwell on the past. we were so positive throughout this journey and we still are funny enough. we know it will happen when its our time and we have to be patient.

i have to wait to pass it now.
the doc gave us the option to have a D & C or pass it naturally. can any of you give me advice on what the best option would be?

    Tania

I'm so sorry (((((((((HUGS)))))))))) When we had our loss in Feb I waited for 2 weeks to pass it when it did not happen we had the D&C. I think it is just a personal choice.

    Bambini,
I just wanted to say that I am very sorry for your loss. I am so sorry that this happened to you. Life is so cruel sometimes. That's a tough decision. I guess if it were me, I'd opt for the D&C just because I would want to get it over with so I could move on. Good luck with whatever you decide.

So sorry to read your post, we also had success the first time out and then shock and sadness.

I opted for the D&C mostly so I could go on and not have to wait for it to happen. I also read about women having a D&C after going through the M/C because it was incomplete. Again I am sorry to hear of your loss.

    thanks guys....

i think the d&c sounds like the answer beacuse we also want to move on. who knows...we mave even conceive naturally in the meantime.

its just so far out of our control its incredible....and all these little decisions we have to make change absolutely nothing in the end.

i think the hardest thing is the waiting. i've never been a patient person.

    Tania,
I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss!! My first IVF cycle was also a BFP, until I m/c'd twins at 7.5 weeks. In my case they had h/b's but had then stopped. I had the D&C and was so glad I did. It also felt strange to me having the babies still in me...I needed closure! I am truly sorry and I know you will go on to have another successful cycle. I am currently 5w pg again and I'm hoping to go all the way this time!!!
Please keep in touch and let us know how you're doing.

    Jen
