report on retrieval

I had the retrieval yesterday and the got 8 eggs, I talk to them today and out of the 8, 2 were empty shells 1 died, 1 was imature but matured today and they tried to fertilize it they will know tomarrow, and 2 fertilized normally, I was expecting better numbers than that, is there any hope for me? please let me know if you have had success with this low of a number also disapointed cuz we have none to freeze.

They put them both back in - only 4 cells each no less and I am PG. There is some debate on my date date (s/b March 5th but they are saying the 15?)but I will know more in a couple of weeks.

I know how devastating that news is but don't give up. My cycle that produced ds is the one where out of 8 eggs retrieved only 2 fertilized--I had given up---but it really does take only one----we put both back and ended up with our little miracle. Please know it can work for you. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Yes, I've seen cases where even only one embryo made it & then turned into a successful pregnancy & healthy baby in the end!! Littlecalista is one of those one embie success stories!!

I know that it's disappointing to not have more fertilize, but you can be very successful with only these two!! As for freezing, it really doesn't matter how many you get, you might still not end up with anything to freeze! Out of 23 eggs retrieved in 3 cycles, we've never had a single embryo make it to be frozen! I know that's disappointing, but hang in there!!
