Hi! I'm a lurker on this site, and I've just completed a FET cycle. At 9dp5dt my beta was 57, which the nurse said was fine and told me to come back in a week to retest. I didn't trust this number and went back after 2 days and at 11dp5dt it only went up to 79. I just spoke with the nurse who told me it does not look great but told me to come back again in two days. Has anyone ever heard of betas like these turning into successful pregnancies? I hate being in limbo, not knowing where I'm standing with this.
Any information or advice is greatly appreciated.
Rosalie

Hi Rosalie,
I went through something very similar in Feb/March. After an FET, my first beta at 9dp5dt was a 78. My RE was also comfortable with that number, but I was NOT and went back two days later. The difference is that my beta DROPPED to a 75, then a 54 and then starting going UP again until it was ultimately over 4200. I had 11 betas done and several u/s's before they declared it a blighted ovum (empty sac).
Every time I'd say to my RE, but the numbers are going up, he'd say, "but initially they went down, and that is the major problem". Yours didn't do that! They went up, so you have a better chance than I did!! I truly hope your numbers will start really going up and that everything will be fine! Is your next beta tomorrow? I'll be praying for you! I truly know the beta He!! you're going through! The girls on this board were SO supportive when I was going through that, and we'll be here for you, too!
Hang in there and I'll be looking for your future posts!

pg/child ment
My beta with IVF #2 didn't double every 48 hours and I had 5 betas(!!) over a ten day period, but everything worked out great, ds is now 15 months old. We get caught up on the betas doubling every 48 hours, but it can take up to 72 hours. And with you doing a FET and testing at 9 and 11 dp, that may make a difference. So don't give up yet.
Hugs,
Linda
Lets us know how it's going.

A lot of clinics will say that they want to see an increase of 66%. Some times the beta doubles, sometimes it doesn't. And yes, I have seen people go on to have successful, full term deliveries!!
Good luck!!
