Slow out of the start gate...

I know I've been keeping a low profile this cycle, but I went in today for my bloods after 3 days of stims. The clinic called with my results

***warning: these are Canadian units and I don't know how to translate***

My E2 is only 187 after 3 days of 300 IU's of Puregon (pure FSH). The nurse said that they usually like to see if over 400 at this point. Well, I check my records of my last cycle (one of the goods things about being an accountant, I kept the records) and my E2 after 3 days of 200 IU's of Puregon was 207.

So, while I'm in line with where I was last time, it doesn't look like this is going to be a stellar cycle for me. I don't go in for an ultrasound until Wednesday, so I have no idea how many follies are cooking yet.

Anyone out there have a similar experience? Before I had the chance to come home and check my records, I was bracing myself for a cancelled cycle.

    Esther

    Esther,
I'm sorry that I can't help you with your question since I didn't stim, but I hope that someone will be able to help you out with your question. Good luck on your cycle. Remember, it's quality not quantity!!

    Esther,

:hugs: It does only take one - good luck.

    And here is your answer.

    Canadian E2 ÷ 3.67 = American E2
    American E2 x 3.67 = Canadian E2

    Hi Esther,
I am sorry that you are so frustrated ..... however, your E2 is similar to your last cycle and that presumably wasn't cancelled ? Also, it is still really early Esther, only 3 days of stims, a lot can happen in the next week.

I am so with you on this frustration, but try and hang in there. Let us know what happens tomorrow .... and try and remember as Karen says that it is truely about quality not quantity.

One more point, my last cycle I wasn't even monitored until day 8 of stims - anything could have been going on in there but by day 8 there were follicles and although my E2 was also a bit on the low side, it did start to increase quite rapidly once follicles got to oh about 15-16mm.

    Hugs

Thanks Jo .... so Esther, your E2 (in US units) is 50.9 after 3 days of stims. What was it at baseline ? I'll bet that it has gone up and that is a good thing.

    Esther,

So sorry that you are coming out of the starting blocks slow. It's hard to say what might happen until the next u/s. Hoping those follies get themselves in gear and start sucking up that yummy FSH. Wishing you lots of luck. I'll be looking for your next update (with hope).

    Hugs,
    Rhea

Hey, Esther! 3 days of stims really isn't enough time in my opinion the determine how well you are reacting to the stims. You could pick up speed in the next few days...

Thanks everyone for all of your replies. My E2 at baseline was 99 (Cdn) or 28 (US)...thanks Jo for the conversion! While I don't know what my baseline E2 was last time, my records show that E2 was doubling every 48 hours for the first few days.

I just got back from my acupunture appt. Intuitively, he doesn't think that I need to worry about the E2. Another interesting thing is I managed to get a big bruise on the right side of my abdomen last Friday night. Don't ask how...I was leaning over a half-height wall/ledge talking to a group of people and pressed myself against it. Anyway it's a good shiner 2-1/2 inches in diameter, right in prime injection territory so I have to shoot around it. My acupuncturist thinks that I could have unconciously been trying to increase blood flow to the area The thing is, I DO have a little more difficulty with that right ovary.

Just trying to stay calm here in hot, muggy Toronto...thanks for all of your support.

Ester - I agree it's still too soon to see how your doing. I have you on the June chart. Do you still want to be there? When did you start stims?
