A few stats over this year's cycles......

OK, here are some stats on the cycles since the beginning of the year. I took out any incomplete data, so the numbers are a bit lower than the full charts, but should show trends.

I analyzed 107 cycles over the past 4 months. 41% were successful, and 59% unsuccessful.

Total Stats:
There were 12 FET cycles, and they resulted in a 50% success and 50% unsuccessful rate.
There were 41 IVF first cycles. 59% were successful, and 41% unsuccessful.
There were 21 IVF second cycles. 33% were successful and 68% unsuccessful.
There were 19 IVF third cycles. 32% were successful, and 68% unsuccessful.
There were 14 IVF fourth cycle of more. 14% were successful and 86% unsuccessful

Average transfer for all cycles was 2.26 and successful cycles 2.34
Average retrieval for all cycles was 14.65 and successful cycles was 14.05
Average fertilization for all cycles was 8.62 and successful cycles 9.84

Success Stats (44 cycles)
* The average age of the woman cycling was 33.65 and the median was 34 (for those stats buffs who know the difference ).
* The age range was 24-42.
* 14% were FET, 52% IVF1, 16% IVF2, 14% IVF3, 2% IVF4, 2% IVF5.

Just a few to start things off....... anybody have a particular stat they are intersted in?????

Kristie,

I would be interested in knowing the success rate on women who had at least one child - is there enough data?

Thanks,
Jan

Kristie- Wow! Looks like I'm not the only Mathgeek around these parts!
I'm with Jan in wondering the stats for women with previous IVF success as I know some of those 2nd/3rd/4th and up cyclers may not have had previous successes.
I'm also wondering about success rates based on dx, like what % for endo, mf, unexplained, tubal, etc.
Thanks so much for doing this!
Awesome!
Tara

I appreciate all the time you put into that. However as I approach my third IVF cycle it is a little disheartening to see that there has only been success in 32% of the cases. But if I go by the numbers I have pretty much the same chance as I did with my second round.

Kristie, this is fabulous. I am curious if there is a correlation between months and success rates. There was a post earlier stating that there are more women conceiving during warm weather months. If it is not too much work.

Thanks for all your work
