Possibly Triggering Tonight!

I have 21 follies, 3 20's and a bunch of 16's and 17's and a few 14's, 1 10 and 1 11. Good numbers right? Dr said he'd call and tell me but probably trigger tonight with e/r Monday! I am SO nervous and excited! It all happened SO fast. I'm SO nervous about taking my HCG shot tonight. Also, they are going to do Icsi with AH on all of my eggs and was wondering would you guys recommend going to blast. They said their clinic has about a 50% blast rate! Opinions greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Lisa,
That's wonderful news!! Sounds like you should get some nice eggs to work with!! As for blasts, I'm not personally a fan of them. I believe that the embryo's do MUCH better inside of our bodies than they do in a petri dish, where things might not be as constant as your body would be. My RE's thought is to get the little ones back to you ASAP. JMHO, & you'll find that some people think blasts are better, but most tend to do 3dt's. Personally, I would never go to blasts because out of 3 cycles & 23 eggs, none have ever made it to blasts to be frozen!!!

GOod luck! I can't wait to hear all about your retrieval!!!

Karen

Lisa,

This is so cool to see all these women with so many eggs. Good luck with the ER. Don't worry about the shot - it will be over before you know it! You've come this far, there's not too many steps left
Take care,
Jan

I'm also triggering tonight for retrieval on Monday!! I'd say my follie counts/sizes are about the same as you. I was honestly worried about the ones 14 and under - - didn't know if they'd be considered mature enough to retrieve an egg. I guess I'll just wait and find out on Monday when I get the report. This is my first so I'm also nervous and anxious. Can't believe I'm finally getting to this point. I'm not doing ICSI as DH has great numbers but they are doing assisted hatching for a 3dt. So that means transfer for me on Thursday and our plan is to transfer 2. Hoping we get some good ones for it.

I honestly don't know much about blasts since this is my first time around. But best of luck to you!!

Lisa - I remember yesterday they wouldn't give you your E2 counts. Did they finally tell you or give you your numbers from today's appt? Just curious....I firmly believe you should be able to get this info! My E2 today was 4200, thus the trigger tonight.

LIsa - Follie making machine!!! Your numbers sound great. There is so much controversy with 3 day vs. 5 day. I would go with the opinions of the embryologist. They could make the decision.

Thanks. Now I'm SO worried after only 5 days of stims my eggs will suck because they matured too quickly. Any opinions? Tried to ask the dr and he hung up on me.

Your doctor hung up on you??? That is crazy !!! I don't know too much about the concern about stimming too fast. I'm triggering after 8 days of stims (though the last 3 nights have been pretty low dosage).
