Oh my goodness! I bawled my eyes out when they won and said "In-vitro here we come baby, and if that doesn't work, adoption!". I have not been watching the whole series, only the last month or so. I had no clue that they were racing for that but I wanted them to win anyways b/c they were the nicest couple racing in my opinion. Wow. I guess I feel so very lucky that we are able to afford to do IVF. I couldn't imagine being in the position those people were in and to have to do the Amazing Race to be able to afford it. I wouldn't mind ever doing that though! And, yes, I would shave my head too if that was the only way I would be able to try to have a baby! I'm just so happy they won!
Have a great night all!
Tara

Me too. We have watched all seasons and of course, this one from the beginning. On their opening segment, their story was about not being able to have a child. I think they had 2 failed IVF's but had no additional funds to continue. Their hope was to get the $$ to put toward starting a family. My DH said from the very first show, "I want them to win!" We are so happy for them even though they're complete strangers we've never met. I'm going to tape the CBS early show tomorrow morning to get the updates from the cast and see what their status/update is. You're right....on top of all that, they seem like just an incredibly nice couple.

I've never watched the show before, but for some reason, I started watching it tonight!! I'm SO glad that I did!
I was SO happy that they won!!!! I was bawling too when they said that about doing IVF!!!!
JCC- thanks for mentioning something about taping the Early show. I'm going to do that too!! I never would've thought to do that, but I'd love an update on how things are going for them!! I hope they're announcing that they were successful with their IVF!!

Uchenna and Joyce had been my favorites from the VERY beginning. I was in tears last night when they won. And especially when Uchenna exclaimed about trying for a baby, and the other racers joined them in saying, "Here's to a baby!!!"
A small side note - I think Joyce looked GREAT with her head shaved!Stacie(37)

I cried my eyes out. I have been watching from the beginning and have loved them all along! I never dreamed they would win! I was just beside myself last night! When they were trying to raise money for the cab driver, I was just pacing the floor! DH even cried! I am tivoing the early show, too. Can't wait to get home and see what they say!

Me too

I've watched from the very beginning and although I liked them anyway (one of the few couples that actually respect each other) because I knew what they were racing for, I REALLY wanted them!
And Heather's right - they almost gave up the million dollars because they didn't want to stiff the cabby $20!!
I pray they have success,

Someone update us on their update after you watch the Early Morning Show please!
They showed such love, respect and devotion to each other on the show it was impossible not to root for them. I was truely shocked when Uchenna said that they had explored the option of not being together at one point.
What a great couple! I was going crazy when they were trying to get $ to pay the cabby. I was silently trying to let these people know that they DESERVED a donation!
I am so happy for them!

Oh that was a great finale...I did love Rob and Amber too, because I am an avid Survivor fan, but I was very happy for Uchenna and Joyce. Particularly when they said what they would do with the money! I cried too!

I am so glad Ron and Kelly didn't win...they aren't very nice to eachother...the other two couples really seemed to care a lot for eachother and work well together.
