HELP 7dpiui and bleeding red? What is this?

I started spotting brown and having some slight pink sometimes redder when whiping when going to the bathroom on 5dpiui...this continued on 6dpiui and today 7dpiui I am now having a lot more and it is just plain RED? What is going on? I am scared. I have NEVER had this before?

A little background- I had TOO many follicles and cycle was almost abandoned, but dr. gave me a shot of lupron on Sat. instead of the hcg shot- and supposively they saw that only 2 ovulated on Monday morning (so they probably ovulated early early that morning)...so we got to do the IUI. I felt like I had mild OHSS, but I am not for sure.

Anyways, why is this happening? I know about implantation bleeding?? But I have always heard of it being only a brownish/pink in color and that is what I was having on Sat. and Sun., but now it is plain RED and definitely having to wear a pantyliner now instead of just screwing up panties...lol...you know what I mean... I called the dr. today and the nurse said that maybe it was due to an irritated cervix...or some of the left over follicles releasing and that causing me to bleed...and lastly possibly the imp. bleeding?

This is just weird because I have never had this before- I have had some very slight spotting when whiping only during ovulation, but NEVER 5-7 days after ovulating?

Has this happened to anyone? Comments, suggestions, or thoughts sooo greatly appreciated!

I had some bleeding after IUI for 2 - 3 days because of the irritation. Hang in there, I know this is a very trying process.

Thanks. Yeah I just don't understand....becuase it seems that if it was from the iui it would have happened earlier...and this didn't start until 5dpiui? I don't know. Anyways, it is now 8dpiui and I am still bleeding red this morning. Not enough for a pad or tampon...just enough for a pantyliner though (sorry for tmi). If I wasn't "in" to my cycle and not paying attention...I could def. mistake this for a period even though it is not heavy enough... Anyone else had this happen?

It could just be breakthrough bleeding. Have you called your RE? I waould recommend that you do if you have not. Good luck!

Each day as I watch you struggle I am reminded to find joy in the little things, to stop and smell the flowers, and that some things are more important than material things. Your smile melts my heart, and takes the chronic pain away, if only for a fleeting moment. Thank you for the joy that you bring, my son.

What is breakthrough bleeding? Yes, I called the dr., but they didn't seem real concerned yet...she told me some possible explantations (in the first post...). I am now on cd20 and 8dpiui...so if it continues to this evening- it will have been going on for a total of 3 days. I thought for sure this might have happened to someone before???
    thanks,

Well, I am on CD20 right now- so the spotting started on CD17 and the red started on CD19...I am usually a 29 day cycle person...although the nurse said that my LH phase would be a little shorter due to the IUI and that I could for sure test on CD26 which would be 2 weeks after. Anyways, I had to change my pantyliner after about 2 1/2 hours and it was ALL red....and I am not leaking ANY progesterone at all now??? I don't know...I just don't know what is going on....

I would put a call into your RE and ask to speak to him/her instead of a nurse, if you haven't already. I would ask what are the top three likely possibilities and outcomes. I think the uncertainty is sometimes worse than the event. The stress of not knowing what's going on isn't helpful, so maybe that would give you some peace of mind. Good luck, I'm thinking about you.

I know! This is just crazy! I went to my regular obgyn. yesterday. They did an ultrasound just to make sure that none of the follicles were way too big and dangerous...anyways I still had 6 on each ovary- around 17 and below or so...so I guess they are cysts now... Anyways, he agreed that the bleeding could just be any number of things in my situation. I am guessing that it is the follicles releasing? But I just don't know. I am on CD22 (10dpiui) now and still bleeding red. Last night I had 2 blood clots- not a mattery substance-just thick blood not soaking through a pad...anyways, one was the size of a quarter. I guess I get to test on Monday, but I am just not thinking that I am preg. I have no symptoms of anything right now- no sore boobs- nothing. Anyways, I just want this bleeding to stop. This is crazy. How am I even going to know when my period comes?!
