?? +HPT after donor IVF cycle

    Hello,
I'm new to this board and have a question...we just did our first cycle with donoor eggs so I haven't taken HCG only Lupron, Estrace, Progestrone, antibiotic and steroids...so my question is....does anyone know any reason why I would have a + HPT other than the obvious? I'm 11 days post a 3d transfer and not scheduled for a beta until 14 days (tuesday). I couldn't take it any longer and did an early result HPT this morning and there were 2 identical lines....I've looked at it about 6 times through out the day to make sure they're still there and they are...I'm so scared of hoping it could be true! Any input would be greatly appreciated...Suzy

I don't want to be a downer, but I wouldn't celebrate completely yet. Be very cautious. One of my very good friends, who I met here, did DE IVF & got 2 + hpt's, two days before & the day before her beta. Her beta came back less than 1, so it was completely negative. She had 2 false positive hpt's & you can't even begin to imagine her heart break as she heard the words that she wasn't pregnant, when she fully expected to hear that she was.

I'm not a fan of hpt's because I've seen them be wrong both, giving both false negatives AND false positives.

Be cautiously optimistic. Perhaps if you call your RE's office tomorrow & tell them that you got a + hpt, they'll let you come in a couple days early for the real test?!

Let us know how your beta comes back! I certainly hope & pray that this is the beginning of your celebrating!!!

    BTW, welcome to FT!!

    Suzy,

No, I used my eggs and I did and HCG .... but I'm sure by now you've taken several more hpt...LOL
And a false pos. isn't very common.
