? about estradiol patches

I just had my transfer on 3/21 and the next day the office called and said that my estradiol was low and put me on patches for the next 2 weeks till the pg test. This never came up with my last IVF and now I"m worried that I'm about to go through menopause or something!

The side effects that are listed on the patches are horrifying!

Anyone using these patches have any side effects??

Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks

Lisa

I start my patches tomorrow, so I will let you know! No, it has nothing to do with menopause.

Hi,

I had to add my 2cents worth. I was on Estradiol patches, and if anything, It really helped with the symptoms, although I was on estrad. patches while on Lupron, so it staved off any side effects of Loopy Lupron. I dont know if the Estra. patches are any different than Estrace. If someone knows please advise. I think both are estrogen.

As I said I didnt have any problem with the patches at all. and Im a whimp and feel and analyze everything in my body. LOL I hope this helps.,

Good Luck

Michelle

Lisa,

I have been on them for three of my four IVF cycles...
I haven't experienced any side effects at all...

I was concerned at first too, but the dose is so minimal the chances of getting any of those side effects listed are super slim...

Best of luck getting through the 2ww and please keep us posted!!

By the way, your offically PUPO!!

My RE put me on estrogen patches as a normal part of his IVF protocol. I've only had them on for 2 days now, but I used them on a prior FET and didn't have any side effects. (But it hurts to tear them off and you get sticky stuff on your skin.)

I absolutely love the patches since they make my boobs so nice and big!!!!! (For those of you who have read all of my other boob rantings, yes, I am obsessed. Pleeeeeaaase don't make me take them off my butt!!! I LOVE my luscious breasteses!!!)

But on the serious side, the worst worry is that of clotting and stroke. I'm on THREE patches right now, and I'm a clotter, and they aren't worried about me being on them. If that is your worst concern, go get a thing of Welches grape juice and have an 8 oz glass every evening before bed. And actually, since you're probably on bed rest, you can have one in the morning too. They did a huge study for clotters like me and the grape juice (get the purple stuff, not the clear, and the study was with Welches) reduces the incidence of clots dramatically!!

Hope that is helpful. Don't worry about those adorable boob growing patches!

Good info... Thanks!

And bonus with the whole boob thing! I have noticed a little change in their size in this whole process, but given that I am a little bigger than "flat as a board", it's not saying much.

THanks again!

Lisa
