Smile MelisaL- trying to answer some of your questions!!

A 3dt (day transfer) means that your embryo's have been fertilized for 3 days. If your retrieval is on Monday, & your transfer is on Thursday, you're transferring 3 day embryo's. Some people go to blasts, which is a 5dt. The embryo's are a little more mature, they have more cells & some feel that you can better choose embryo's. From what I've seen, the stats are about the same, success wise, for both 3dt & 5dt's.

I can't really help you with your question about the retrieval process as I've never made it to one myself, & have to use DE, but if you post & ask, you'll get loads of replies! As for the shots, or stims, you'll take those & go in for b/w & u/s's to monitor the size of your follies & when they're at a certain size, you'll have a trigger shot of HCG & then 36-48 hours (I can't remember exactly which it is) you'll have your retrieval done. They'll go in & aspirate the follies & remove the eggs. The eggs will then be fertilized & then you'll transfer either 3 or 5 days later.

Yes, E2 is your Estrogen level. Sometimes Progesterone is referred to as P4.

Ask ANY questions that you might have, ok?! That's what we're all here for & that's the only way that you learn!! So, ask away!! THis is truly the most amazing group of ladies you'll ever find. We're all in different stages of our journey in this IVF rollercoaster, but we've all either been there, done that, or are going through it right now. Whatever your question, you'll almost always get an answer here!!!

So, kick off your shoes, sit back, & get comfy here, but just don't get too comfy, ok?! We want to kick you off this board relatively quickly & send you on over to the Pregnancy bb's!!!

Welcome!!

Karen
