2nd beta results (pg. ment.)

Hi everyone!

Well, my nurse had the day off today and called me from home to tell me the results of my 2nd beta ... I told you she's the best!

Anyhow my first beta was 65 on Tues. 3/15 and today's (3/17) was 200+ (she couldn't remember if it was 206 or 208 exactly but knew it was over 200!). So we're very happy with that! We have done our monitoring with our local clinic and the actual procedure was done at a clinic in Minnesota, so I had a message from them this afternoon and they said to stop taking the Estrace, the prometrium, and to decrease our PIO injection to .5 cc daily (we've been doing 1cc so far). They are going to check my progesterone again next Tuesday to make sure my levels are okay without all of the extra support, but I guess I'm a bit worried I might not produce enough on my own. I suppose if my levels are low they'll just put me back on the progesterone support.

What does estrace do? Anyone know? My local nurse said she suspected I'd be on that for the first part of the pg. so I was surprised my IVF clinic said to discontinue it.

Since I'm at ectopic risk, they'll do an early 1st u/s on March 28 which they say will be 5w5d. I'm still so worried about this and hope it's not ectopic, but that scan should let us know for sure.

By the way they also said in the message my due date would be Nov. 23 - that's the day before Thanksgiving! If all goes well, we'll surely have lots to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!

Just wanted to post my update! Thanks again for all of your support ...I'm trying to keep up with all of the posts ... there's so much activity on this board. I just want you each to know that I'm thinking of you all and hoping and praying for all good things for each of you!

Love,
Jenny

Jenny,
Congratulations!! Great numbers!! And how nice of your nurse to call you from home, on her day off!! What a sweetie!

Estrogen plumps up your lining. I've stayed on Estrogen, but was always off of it by around 7 weeks or so. I'm surprised that they're cutting your PIO so quicky!! It seems a little early to cut it down. Personally, I'd ask to have my progesterone checked in a couple days, not a week! If your progesterone is too low, it can cause a m/c. I'm NOT trying to scare you, but the placenta starts producing progesterone to support the pregnancy between 8-12 weeks. At this early stage in your pregnancy, I would think they'd want you on the extra support still. I've always stayed on my PIO at the same dose until I was 8w & then was off of it between 9-11 weeks.

Let us know how your u/s goes ok?! It's unlikely that you'll see the h/b, but you might! The heart usually starts beating around 6w. Some see it around that time, & others have to wait until around 7w to see it. If you see it at your u/s, yea!! If not, don't panic, it's just too early.

Karen

Ahhh Karen, now you have me worried! I'm only 15dp3dt and they stopped my progesterone this past Tuesday.... because it was 140 (my progesterone) when they tested my blood on Tuesday. I was told that I would most likely have to be on it for several weeks if I got a +++ beta... but when they saw my actual prog number, they stopped it completely. Do you think that is bad????

Worried......
