Hi girls,
I am considering an IVF this summer. I live in Canada and considering going to US for the procedure. I am very interested to know your experiences with fertility clinics in Nevada. I've heard a lot about Sher Institute. Would you recommend going there? I will have no insurance coverage so I want to give it my best shot.
Any information will be very helpful...
God bless,
Nd

nd--
I do not have any experience on SHER, but I wanted to bump this up so someone else can respond.
(I had to chuckle after reading your sig, I have said that if this IVF does not work, I will become an expert on alternative medicine for IF ... I think I am going at it backwards
too funny, huh?!)
Good Luck!!Diane

Hi ND,
I cycled in January at the Sher Institute in Nevada with Dr. Fisch. I loved Dr. Fisch and overall thought it was a good experience although I got a chemical pregnancy....at least I made it to transfer which I had never done before.
I can say that there were several girls that I became friends with that had done many failed IVF's before going to Dr. Fisch that did become pregnant. They thought he was a miracle worker!!! Good luck to you!!
Hugs,
Tammy

I thought I'd give an alternate view here... we consulted with Dr. Fisch and were less than impressed. We are now back with our original RE.
If you want to know details about why I feel as I do, PM me.

Thanks for your replies.
Brandi, good luck to you on saturday, sending my prayers for BFP!
Crystal, I don't know how to PM.... ;(
Agnes, I will keep it in mind, thanks
Diane, alternative medicicne is great especially if you get results at the end. It is less invaise, but although I am still an advocate of it it did not work for me (however I have to admit that I became a lot healthier than before). May be you have to do it backwards to make it work?
I am contemplating between Sher institute and Dr. Shapiro..
Question for those who are not from Nevada: How expensive is accomodation, etc.? I mean how much more than an IVF itself am I looking at?

Oh ok. Sorry.

I just don't want to post a bunch of negative stuff on the board.
Basically, in a phone consult, he acted all excited about my unusual issue and said emphatically that he could help. Then when we met him in person, he became wishy washy and unsure (without any further info that would cause that to make sense). This is after we drove 5 hours to see him!
Also, when we asked how much it costs to do a cycle there, his first question was "Well, how much do you make?"
We left there feeling as if we were just at a used car dealership instead of a doctors office.
Oh we also waited 2 hours past our appointment before we were taken back.
All in all, a bad experience. I know some people love him and have lots of success there, but I'd want to know if someone had a different opinion to share.
Best of luck whatever you decide!

Hey Brandi
What you described is not a very professional attitude, eh?
I am sorry you had this best experience and I hope that you are lucky next time with your current ER.
I wonder if someone had any positive experiece with Sher Institute?Me:31 , DH: 35

Pg. Ment.
Hi. I live in Las Vegas and I went to the Fertility Center of LV. I second everything that Brandi said about the clinic. It is GREAT!! I saw the other doctor though, Dr. Daneshmand. He was amazing. Very caring, wonderful bedside manner - you got the feeling you were actually a person instead of just another infertility case.
We got pg. on our first IVF cycle. My initial betas were very low so it was touch and go for a few weeks. When Dr. Daneshmand saw a heartbeat on the u/s, he actually hugged me.
BTW, I know two other women who went to that center and both loved it.
PM me if you have any other questions about the Fertility Center of Las Vegas.
Good Luck!
Suzie
