This is meant to be a funny thread...
With having transfer today, it got me thinking about this and I just had to post...
One of my biggest fears is peeing on the RE at transfer. My bladder is so full and I'm so afraid that when he's "fooling around" down there with the speculum, catheter, etc., and the nurse is pressing hard on my abdomen with the u/s transducer that I'm going to lose control and it's going to be "all over"
Anyone else????

Hi Girls
I was not worried about peeing but rather being gassy as well. It never happened though. I managed to contain myself.

Robin,
You are so funny!!! What a coincidence that you asked......
I have been extremely constipated and yesterday before my transfer I had acupuncture. She did some "points" for my constipation and said it should help immediately.....so during my transfer I was scared to death that it was going to work like a laxative and.........you know the rest.
Thank God it didnt (it actually didnt work at all).
Thanks for the making me laugh!!!
Hugs,
Tammy

Robin,
I almost peed in my pants just reading this!!
I can totally relate.... For my third IVF, my bladder was so full that the RE and nurse even commented on it. During the transfer, I couldn't even look at the monitor because I was terrified of peeing in the RE's face and was concentrating with all my might!
Once it was done, I knocked everyone out of my way just to get to the bathroom! I was never so happy to pee in my life!!
Thanks for the laugh!!Eileen

Well, my fear is also regarding retrieval. During my first IVF we went out for mexican the night before retrieval. Needless to say, I was a bit gassy the next morning... I made a comment to DH before I went under that I hoped I didn't "toot" during retrieval. Apparently that stuck in my head because DH told me on the way home that I kept asking the nurses & RE if I tooted while I was under. This must have been right before I totally came out of twilight... How embarrasing.
I am very careful about my thoughts before I go under now...

That is soo funny. I always feared the same thing. Then they would also have the nerve to comment, "wow your badder is really full," as they pressed and poked around.

LOL!
Something new for me to freak out about! Peeing on someone. Ack!
TMI coming:
I haven't had a full bladder u/s in quite some time. (That is one good thing about the dildo-cam.) When I have had them in the past it has been unbareable at times. Once they even told me to go "a bit" because it was too full! I got into good practice - drinking just the right amount to be full when they needed it to be, but not too far in advance. I for one do not need to drink the alloted amount at least 1 hour ahead of time.

Robin, VERY VERY FUNNY. I wonder how we manage to hold it when they are pressing and poking.
