Hi All,
I am in need of some support! I had my ds on first IVF cycle 5 years ago. We froze 6 blasts and since October I've had 2 blasts transferred each month and all bfn's. I have NO idea what grade or any of that! I never even knew there was such a thing till I was reading these posts!
Anyway, now Im starting a fresh cycle. I'm on bcp's right now till Feb 13th. Then I start Microdose Lupron and 225IU gonal-f. If everything goes okay it looks like the end of Feb beginning of March will be ER and ET. Hoping this will work as my first fresh cycle did, don't know why the frozen ones didn't I thought I would be all set. Maybe I waited to long!
Oh yah, and I'm 39! thanks for letting me vent![]()

Read my sig. It will give you some hope!!
My first IVF was successful- triplets- born early and died. We skipped the FET at that time for many reasons but mostly because fresh blasts had worked so well for us the first time. My second fresh cycle was my DD. Then we entered the fine world of FETs. At the time we had 25-30 ( I think it was 27 or something) embryos frozen. SOme blasts, some 2 pns ( just after fertilization). We did 4 FETs. The first one was 2 blasts- ectopic. The send one was 2 blasts - negative. The 3rd one was a a couple of the 2 pns grown out to a 5 cell and 6 cell. Negative. The last FET we did was one blast. We thawed NINE 2 pns with the goal of growing them to blast to transfer 2. ALL 9 petered out. The lab thawed 2 more blasts that morning so we would have something to transfer. One stopped growing and the other was excellent. Had a chemical pregnancy from transfering that one.
At that point we had 6 2 pns left. I had very little hope in those and we had spent over 1.5 years doing FETs. My REs office had a really bad run with the embryos frozen in the time period mine had all been frozen. My ectopic was one of the very few pregnancies that resulted from those groups of embryos. They subsequently changed their freezing protocols and things have gotten better but mine were already frozen.
We moved on to fresh again- something I thought we would never have to do.
Got pregnant from fresh cycle #3 ( missed m/c- the baby had Down) and fresh cycle #4 - twins - although one died inutero- the other is my DS- 9 months. We knew with these 2 cycles we were going to blast so they took everything to blast and didn't even try to freeze anything earlier. From IVF #3 I have 9 blasts and from IVF #4 I have two. I also still have those 6 2 pns. I think they are from my triplet's cycle.
We will probably try and use some of the blasts but I am not holding my breath.
Just wanted to give you some hope. By the way both IVF #3 and 4 were done when I was 39. In fact #4 was done one month prior to 40!
Good Luck

child ment.
Hi ltb:
I just wanted to say that we have had similar journeys and I jope this fresh cycle is what we both have been waiting for. Our DD is from our first IVF 3.5 years ago, and since then we have used our frozen blasts, and now we are starting our next fresh cycle. (I started BCP yesterday - Transfer scheduled for 3/17)
Anyway, I feel totally clueless again about the meds - it seems like forever since I did injections and now they have these pens etc... I know I will freak out again - but come hang out with us on the Lucky Charms thread and we can give each other support!Diane
