Exclamation Welcome Message & Privacy Policy- ALL members please read!

This board is for people undergoing IVF or other high-tech treatments, such as ZIFT, GIFT or TET. Whether using your own eggs or donor eggs, please feel free to post your questions and join us as we provide support and encouragement to one another.

We ask you to remember 2 very important things as you post here:
1. Posting of meds for sale is NOT allowed anywhere at FT. If you have questions in regards to this, please PM or email a moderator.

2. When posting about positive beta or u/s results, ALWAYS put (pg ment) in your subject line, as a courtesy to all members. While hearing positive results is ALWAYS welcome here, we need to remember that this is a "safe place" & someone might be having a hard day & might not want to read about pregnancy at that time.

3. For those in a cycle group, please start a new thread EVERY week, with the date of that week in the subject with your title, so that we don't end up having super long threads, or threads that go on for months. Example, Lucky Charms, week of _________. That way you'll still know which thread to look for & your group can stay together without the thread getting too big!!

**** Privacy Policy ****
Confidentiality and privacy are important not only to you but also to your fellow members. We highly encourage the following practices:

1. What is said in one post should not be taken to another post by a different member.

2. Avoid mentioning your personal information publicly. This includes but not limited to full real names, employment and phone numbers of the employees in their own buildings, address, email addresses, etc.

3. Similarly to the above please don't expose fellow members' personal information in your posts.

4. Please don't discuss other members' personal affairs in your posts. This includes any item from their private life and health condition. After all, you probably wouldn't like someone else discussing your private affairs in public.

Thank you & welcome to our board!!

KarenS-MI - inspirational quote

Hi,

Here is a quote to consider if we decide to do a pinned inspirational quotes page as Robin suggested:

LEARN FROM THE EARTH TO BE STEADFAST ON YOUR PATH, EVEN THOUGH OTHERS DISTURB YOU. FOR THE EARTH CONTINUES IN HER ORBIT THOUGH BURDENED BY MANY CREATURES"
Srimad Bhagavatam

Here's one more of my favorite quotes I like to share:

The souls of people, on their way to Earth-life, pass through a room full of lights; each takes a taper, often only a spark, to guide it in the dim country of this world. But some souls, by rare fortune, are detained longer and have time to grasp a handful of tapers, which they weave into a torch. These are the
torch-bearers of humanity, its poets, seers, and saints, who lead and lift the race out of darkness, toward the light. They are the law-givers and saviors, the light-bringers, way-showers and
truth-tellers, and without them, humanity would lose its way in the dark.
~Plato

OK, this one I really think is great to speak to the support we get here on these boards. It came from the In-between Treatment board, where there is some healing going on right now, but I think it would be great for a pinned thread here!

“Portrait of a Friend"

I can't give solutions to all of life's problems, doubts,
or fears. But I can listen to you, and together we will
search for answers.

I can't change your past with all it's heartache and pain,
nor the future with its untold stories.
But I can be there now when you need me to care.

I can't keep your feet from stumbling.
I can only offer my hand that you may grasp it and not fall.

Your joys, triumphs, successes, and happiness are not mine;
Yet I can share in your laughter.

Your decisions in life are not mine to make, nor to judge;
I can only support you, encourage you,
and help you when you ask.

I can't prevent you from falling away from friendship,
from your values, from me.
I can only pray for you, talk to you and wait for you.

I can't give you boundaries which I have determined for you,
But I can give you the room to change, room to grow,
room to be yourself.

I can't keep your heart from breaking and hurting,
But I can cry with you and help you pick up the pieces
and put them back in place.

I can't tell you who you are.
I can only love you and be your friend.

Here are some more quotes:

I'd rather regret the things that I have done
than the things that I haven't.
- Lucille Ball

I don't know what kind of future life I believe in,
but I believe that all that we go through here must
have some value.
- Anna Eleanor Roosevelt (1884-1962)

Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow.
It empties today of its strength.
- Corrie Ten Boom

With all your science can you tell how it is, and whence it is,
that light comes into the soul?
- Henry David Thoreau

Cheers!
Teresa

Ok, here's two that I found...thought they were interesting:

The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipate troubles but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly."
~Buddha~

Aerodynamically, the bumble bee shouldn't be able to fly, but the bumble bee doesn't know it so it goes on flying anyway.
~Mary Kay Ash~

That second one sounds like so many of us, those that ignore when we are told we don't have as much of a chance as others to conceive but we go on trying anyway.

Another inspirational "To a Friend" letter

Letter from Fra Giovanni, 1513

I am your friend and my love for you goes deep. There is nothing I can give
you which you have not got, but there is much, very much, that while I
cannot give it, you can take.
No heaven can come to us unless our hearts find rest in today. Take
heaven! No peace lies in the future which is not hidden in this present
little instant. Take peace!
The gloom of our world is but a shadow. Behind it, yet within our reach,
is joy. There is radiance and glory in the darkness could we but see - and
to see we have only to look. I beseech you to look!
Life is so generous a giver, but we, judging its gifts by the covering,
cast them away as ugly, or heavy or hard. Remove the covering and you will
find beneath it a living splendor, woven of live, by wisdom, with power.
Welcome it, grasp it, touch the angel's hand that brings it to you.
Everything we call a trial, a sorrow, or a duty, believe me, that angel's
hand is there, the gift is there, and the wonder of an overshadowing
presence. Our joys, too, be not content with them as joys. they too, conceal
diviner gifts.
Life is so full of meaning and purpose, so full of beauty - beneath its
covering - that you will find earth but cloaks your heaven.
Courage, then, to claim it, that it all. But courage you have, and the
knowledge that we are all pilgrims together, wending through unknown
country, home.
And so, at this time I greet you. Not quite as the world sends
greetings, but with profound esteem and with the prayer that for you, now
and forever, the day breaks and the shadows flee away.
