Hello ladies. I'm new to posting here, but I have been reading your thread for a couple days now. Your posts have been very informative and inspiring -- I enjoy learning about other people's experience as I start my IUI journey.

I am 35 and have PCOS. ***children mentioned*** I am blessed w/ 2 beautiful sons (ages 8 & 5) from my first marriage. My fiance and I have been trying for our first together since September 2011 (6 months of clomid w/o success). I'm fortunate that my fiance loves my boys like they are his own. Yet, we both would love nothing more than to have a child together. ***end mention***

This was my first IUI cycle...I took 100 mg of clomid from days 3-9 (I am also on metformin for PCOS), and went in for my cd12 ultrasound today to determine how many follies/when to trigger. I have one follie on each side, each measuring around 12mm. There are a few smaller folllies as well. Doc wants me to come back on Wed to do another ultrasound. This sounds about right to me, since I tend to ovulate a little late (based on my months of bbt charting -- which I have given up on b/c it was stressing me out too much -- I typically ovulate around day 18-20).

I was hoping you ladies might be able to shed some light on a couple of questions...1) how much per day do the follies tend to grow; 2) can I release folllies from both ovaries; 3) how large do the folllies typcially have to be on the day of the trigger shot to be viable candidates for fertilization?

Sorry for all the questions...I'm new to the IUI process and you all seem like you know lot about this stuff

The two week wait is starting to drive me nuts. Today is only day 3. On day 6 I will test for trigger.

Preg/loss/****ty life ment
I went for my u/s yesterday and there was only a little fluid on my uterus. The RE saw something that could be the sac on my right tube. I'll see my OB this week to discuss my options. I'm so mad at life right now! I wish there was someone to blame but there's none. I was on a clinical trial that was going to pay in full for 4 IUI's now because of this I'm out of it. My insurance doesn't cover anything, meaning anything IF related. I don't know if we can afford paying out of pocket at this point. Today I'm a sad bitter person.

Hyperiongp- I hear you on the 2ww! I'm going nuts.

Clementine- Welcome To answer your questions...... Follicles can grow between 1-2mm per day. If you use a trigger both eggs will release if they are mature enough. According to my RE he wants my follicles to be between 18-20mm in order for me to trigger.

AFM- I have been keeping busy with a communion yesterday and a bridal shower today. Two days with my crazy family! I have had a mild headache that started before I got to communion yesterday and is still going! I also have a pressure feeling in my pelvic region......it kind if feels like AF cramps but it also feels like UTI pressure...it's just weird! I really hope my AF isn't gearing up to show her ugly face! I'm only 4dpiui so I know I still have about a week and half to go before she shows her face!

Sanrio- So sorry to hear that!

Hyperiongp- I'm right there with you! This 2WW is driving me crazy..way more so than normal..I think probably because it was my first IUI! I have a really really good feeling about this month, trying not to get my hopes up but it's really hard!! I think we had our IUI the same day..so hoping these next 11 days go by fast for the both of us!! I always see you guys right "test out the trigger" what exactly does that mean?? Take a preg test and see if its still positive from the trigger?? I did an OPK on Friday and yesterday just for kicks and they were both positive...that is probably from the trigger right??

Heartooangel- Hoping for a quick 2WW from you also! Looks like you are just one day ahead of me!

AFM- 3dpiui now...having some on/off slight cramping..nothing severe!
