Good evening ladies and happy hump day...I'm on 6dpiui...first week almost down!
Hozzi have you had a natural cycle? This was my first and my RE suggested a natural cycle, I was a little apprehensive about not using any meds.

Lara- so sorry to hear about your BFN.

Mrs- I am also on my 2ww on a natural cycle and an IUI. I was on Clomid for 6 months and I truly don't know if it did anything for me. But on my natural cycle, I had a nice big follicle that the RE said would be the next to go. And I got a true positive OPK. Good luck to you!!

It is starting to get to me that I haven't taken a HPT. I don't know if I should do it and be prepared either way for my appoinment on Friday. I am 12dpIUI. DH said don't take one and just let the RE do it to make sure either way. I feel like I am bloated from the progesterone suppositories. BLAH gross!!

Faith My FET is on Friday the 24th -- just 2 days away! DH has promised to take me to Trader Joe's and buy me 9 days of chocolatey goodies because roundtwo suggested I get myself a treat for every day of my 2ww and I thought that idea was pretty hotsauce. I am so tremendously sorry you're in physical pain, but glad glad GLAD that you aren't going to have to have the surgery. While the surgery can check for endo (and can inspect your tubes for other obstruction) it also can cause what are called "adhesions" which would then block up your tubes. So I'm so glad you can avoid the emergency surgery and go in with a planned lap sometime if deemed necessary.

As to losing weight, there are a couple of ways to go about it. From your avatar picture, you look like a woman who, under usual circumstances, is reasonably slim. This means you can lose weight a couple of ways: #1 calorie counting, strictly or #2 exercising vigorously. I do not advise both together. My preference is vigorous exercise! It makes you feel better on the inside, while calorie counting doesn't make you feel better until it starts to work! Vigorous exercise also helps with IBS which I know you suffer from. Prior to all these IUIs/IVF I was a pretty vigorous exerciser and I really really miss it. I'm not super overweight atm but I'm over my personal preference!

AngiLara Your RE is quite right and doubly so since you're over 35. Typically speaking it's best to do Clomid 3 months, then 1 month off or 1 month injectables, then go back to Clomid. The same is true for Femara because it is also an estrogen blocker. It is believed though not widely accepted or understood that long-term usage of estrogen blockers such as Clomid/Femara has the negative effect of increasing your natural testosterone, which is not so good for the eggs. In either event, I think Femara has a better success rate for women over 35 than Clomid; but in all honesty neither drug has a great success rate over 35. Have you discussed Repronex with your doctor? It's a little painful because it's an IM injection in the butt cheek, but it's the cheapest of all the injectables and will nearly triple your odds of success each month. Sometimes REs have discount cards too! I know you said you can't afford injectables but maybe your RE can hook you up somehow -- sometimes you can combine them with oral meds like Clomid or Femara so you use a much lower dose of the injectables.

Jill Sorry to hear you got a BFN on our pee stick this morning! That never stops hurting

Mrs Are you the one that's been TTC for 11 years? And he said a natural cycle? Seriously? Unless you started TTC when you were in your teens, you should probably demand he explain himself if you aren't pregnant this go-round. For what an IUI costs, it's totally worth it to add the 8 dollars worth of Clomid to guarantee a big, fat, juicy egg.

AFM Progesterone IS disgusting! The way it leaks I have to wear a panty liner and change it several times a day or it gets STUCK. So nasty.

Impatient Yes I have been TTC for 11 years...uugghh...I'm 32 and my DH is 35. He had high FSH and VERY low sperm count. When I went in for my first natural IUI cycle I had 3 follicles without any meds so that gave me some hope. But ya time's a wastn' lol

    MLNY Good luck to you!

Also while cleaning and cooking this evening I started to get some dull achy pain behind my belly button? Doesn't feel like AF...just felt different...we shall see. I tell ya this 2WW does funny things to a girl lol!

Impatient - While I obviously don't know how it felt for you, I do know that my BIL/SIL had several IUI's before moving on to IVF (what's with this family?). Anyway, their first round of IVF didn't take and they were devastated - they said that it hurt so much more than all of the other BFN's. But their FET worked the next round...we actually all left for a 9 day Hawaiian vacation a few days after the transfer so they had some nice relaxation during their 2WW (although is it really two weeks - for some reason I thought it was shorter). I guess what I am trying to say is that I get that it's not the same as an IUI, and I am really rooting for you this time around!

Mrs - I never did a natural IUI cycle. The doctor suggested clomid/iui and I went with it. I will be 32 on the 12th of March and my DH is 40 so I know what you mean about time's a wastin'. 11 years is a long time TTC...I might have opted for meds also, but hopefully you won't have to worry about it.

A story I'd like to share that I keep forgetting to tell you all about ........ Last year I bought a fetility stone. I kept it by my bed and would hold it at night and rub it's smooth sides. It worked for us last year. ( I know it sounds silly.....but Hey, anything helps, right?....LOL ) ............well this year when we decided to TTC, I couldnt find my fertility stone ANYWHERE. I looked everywhere....and figured I vacuumed it up by mistake. So, DH and I were going to go back to the organic food/health store where we got it and buy another one......WELL......on Feb. 1st we bought new carpet and scheduled for it to be installed Feb 6th.
On the night before the installation we had to pull up all of our old carpet. Well...we got it all up and out of the house.....but as my DH was in the hallway by our bedroom pulling up the padding, he chuckled. I asked him what was so funny.....He came walking out to the living room HOLDING MY FERTILITY STONE IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND. He said , "Look what I found under the carpet padding !" We just looked at each other and then I said, "How in the hell did it get there? We have looked everywhere for it!" ......then I jokingly said, "Ha! Thats why we havent gotten pregnant...now I will "............so 2 days later (feb 8th) was our IUI & apparently we did get pg, but it ended up being chemical.
Well, at least I know my "supersticious" fertility stone works LOL
Heck ! From now on, I'm gonna kiss that sucker and rub it all over my tummy for good luck!!!!! HeHe
