Tomorrow we go to my OB to have a consult(since I fired my RE and my RE's office has a IF practice). I'm curious to see what his insight is on this whole situation- weird cycles, spotting, likely PCOS stuff, polyps. Urgh. I told DH I was done with all this after the last IUI but of course now I kind of want to try a couple more times so we'll see. I hope he doesn't say I have to take Clomid again, like I did years ago!

Tonya I hope that your beta going back up means GOOD things for you! I have my fingers crossed! Good luck on your ultrasound today -- I hope they see a sac right where it should be!
tysa Thanks, dinner was good! Well, the cake was a boxed Duncan Hines thing, which I hate, it tastes of chemicals to me, but my less picky family members thought it was fine. The sperms are ok to wait around; they store them in cold-storage. I know this because we have the courier deliver ours (because DH needs to go back to work between giving up his sample and when my IUI is later on) and the delivery guy delivers the sperm vials in a cold storage thing. So it's not like they're just sitting around on the counter.
krisdeck Welcome to the IUI board! Your IUI sounds like it went great, good numbers all around! As to injectables, well, those do increase your odds of having multiples pretty significantly. This is not a small concern given that you're unexplained -- you have a good chance with injectables to fall into the 30% that gets multiples. It is, in the end, up to you. Triplets are not terribly likely, but they do happen -- you and your DH need to be very aware of that before you move to injectables. Either be ready for triplets, or be ready to do selective reduction, as painful as that idea may be. With that said, injectables DOES increase your odds of BFP by a hefty chunk!
Nikki Hi Nikki, & welcome to the IUI board! We'll all keep our fingers crossed for you. Do you have a diagnosis for why you're having trouble getting pregnant?
wannabebe The nationwide average success rate for IVF in the under-35 category is 50%. Some centers are significantly higher, and the odds go up further for some types of problems (IE ovulatory issues and male factor have better odds than any of the implantation problems, etc., because IVF bypasses ovulation and fertilization). I'm just throwing that out there because 30-40% is the success category for older women -- everyone needs to check their own center and their own age group at Society for Assisted Reproductive Technologies for their own statistical chance
(P.S. I just noticed you're in Canada -- that probably does have an effect on the numbers -- the numbers I'm quoting are for the U.S.)
rlo Glad you're liking Name of the Wind! I'm waiting for book 2 to be out in paperback as I'm not giving the bookstore 30 bucks for that one, lol. Ah, I wish I could send you a dinner up to Cincy -- cooking for others is one of my most treasured hobbies, and I really don't get to do it enough!
Island*Girl Yes, you could still get a BFP. Your bleeding could be from your polyp -- which wouldn't have to mean anything at all for implantation, only that your polyp was bothered by the IUI or the uterine cramping. Uterine cramping is actually a GOOD sign.
As for the Aleve -- well, honestly, it's not good to take. However, plenty of women do plenty worse things and still get pregnant. So I wouldn't rule it out yet. But that polyp definitely needs to go, if this cycle is a bust, because it's making you bleed.
Lolaloo Darn I'm sorry to hear both follies are on the left this time! But keep hope alive. Maybe ask him to up it again, see if you can get 3 out? Would any injectables help recruit -- some women do just 1 vial per cycle of I think Bravelle, I read somewhere, to jump-start the follicles. I'm pretty sure you can get a discount card for Bravelle on their website so that might bring it back into the realm of reasonable, if it had a good chance of working.
ajeanine That's bizarre that your cycle was so odd this time, as you haven't done any stims or meds, nor did you even do IUI this round. Maybe the IUI has a longer-term effect of some sort than is typically acknowledged. I wouldn't be surprised if that were true.
AmyA Well if not Clomid, maybe Femara or Metformin would do the trick. Ask to see their sperm thawing facilities and if they show you a kitchen sink, run away
AFM Been in pretty good spirits this whole cycle. I did have some weird pains in my left ovary area yesterday which were not ovulation but I'm not sure what else it would be. I googled whether or not a functional cyst should have pain and the upshot was that they can, but much worse than this and it'd be pretty obvious that something weird was going on because it would hurt because it had ruptured. So I don't think it was that either, because it wasn't THAT painful.
Maybe it was just gas. I really wouldn't be surprised!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I am currently on day 12 and am anxious for my follicle scan tomorrow. My DH had low morphology, only 4%, but everything else has come back normal. I was really hoping last month would work, as I had a size 18 and 14 follicle on trigger day and DH numbers were good, they were 128 million and 90% motility. It was very disappointing, but I am trying to have high hopes this month
TONYA I am so sorry you are going through this, let's just hope for good news on Monday!

Hi ladies- Nothing to report. I have been feeling very bloaty yesterday and today but nothing else. I am thinking all the progestrone is causing the bloat. I keep visualizing the 2 lines on a positive pregnancy test and talking to my stomach and the hopefully fertilized embies. I am hoping for some sort of symptom or implantation symptoms laster this week. Trying to stay very positive and upbeat. I am hoping this is our month. We need a bunch of april babies!!

10 DPO... POAS and negative... but I know it's still early and thus there is still hope for this cycle. I remember praying and asking to be a more patient person several years ago when I was going through a tough time in my life... LOL this IF journey is certainly answering my prayers as the learning grounds for teaching me how to be a more patient person!!
One day I'll write a book about the hidden "gifts" of the fertility journey.

Tonya I'm so sorry to hear about all your ups and downs. All will work out!! I'm praying for you.
AFM: My beta on Monday was 596 so doing good. I am scheduled for U/S this coming Monday Aug 1st. My questions are what will they be able to see being so early. If my calculations are correct. I'm 4 weeks and 5 days along Today. The 1st day of my last period was June 24th. But my cycle is never regular so I'm not sure if that makes a difference.
Also just wondering what would the chance of me having twins with the beta numbers I have?? Just curious.Me: 30 PCOS
DH: 32 No Issues
TTC with meds since 5/2009.
3/2011 Diag Lab, 2 Adhesion's fixed, 2 very very small spots of Endometrosis that MD took care of.

Hi everyone... I'm still here and reading everything. I have been busy since coming back from vacation so I really havent had time for personals. And this morning a headache started and turned into a killer migraine. I can barely think and already searched the house for some left over Ibuprofin, with no success..... so I think I'm going to bed.... hopefully I can sleep it away.
