Asking for a friend...
I have a friend who is going thru IUIs but keeps getting canceled due to hormone levels. Yesterday she was canceled because her estrogen was too low and they said they could not supplement because the estrogen is a direct result of how the follicles are doing. I have been thru IVF and FET and has estrogen supplements for both, so I know they exist and work! What do you all think?

I don't know for sure, but here's a theory: I'm assuming they aren't doing the IUI because her follicles are not maturing/ready to ovulate. If they are tracking only by hormone levels instead of vag ultrasound could be their reasoning. I don't think estrogen supps can actually made the follicles grow which is why they prescribe clomid, follitism, etc.
If she is going only though an OB, she might want to switch to an RE right away. OB's will usually go the most conservative route without inducing ovulation. If your friend is anxious to get started, an RE might be more aggressive. Hope this helps! |
