I am not sure how this works but if there is anyone out there who can help me with a ovulation question. I had read a double line for a postive surge the evening of the 30th and again the morning of the 31st. By the late afternoon of today the 31st it was no longer a surge for the hormone pre-ovulation. I won't be able to do anything about trying this cycle until tomorrow morning to the afternoon. Would anyone think this is too late to try? I am doing an at home IUI but won't recieve the vials until Friday the 1st.? any feedback welcome.

My first question is are you taking your waking body temp? If you are and your body temp went up this morning it's too late. If your temp is still low and you can try before noon today you might get lucky.
The cycle I got pregnant I had the first OPK+ on Monday night, followed by another OPK+ the next morning (on the second pee of the morning because I wanted to get everything from the night before out of my system to be sure I was still surging and not just seeing left-overs from the night before). By that afternoon, no more surge. I had an ultrasound around 2-3pm and they found no large follicles and figured I'd already ovulated in which case they felt they should be doing the IUI at that time. They gave me an Rx for clomid and suggested I wait a month- why waste the sperm was their attitude. Well, that's what we'd tried first (IUI afternoon following OPK+ the night before) and it didn't work. Against their advice, I decided to go in for the IUI the next morning and sort-of barged my way into an appt. I had the IUI between 9:30 and 10am and it took- I'm six months pregnant.
If you're doing a home insem, the only thing is you're probably doing an ICI and it's got to take a little longer for the sperm to swim up through the cervix than if you do an IUI with the Dr where they put the sperm straight into your uterus.

fetch---what meds do you take to produce so many follicles? I'm so jealous! I typically only produce one follicle per cycle, although we increased my Follistim this time and I had a couple more.
Anyway, I'm wondering the same thing about the LH surge. I am currently 9dpiui. I was supposed to take Ovidrel on CD 12 and IUI on CD14. They called me the afternoon of CD 12, told me to take Ovidrel immediately and come in for the IUI at 6:30 a.m. on CD13 b/c I started to surge on my own. At the u/s on the morning of CD12, I had a 22mm, a 17, and two 14mm and I don't think I ovulated until after the IUI. I don't chart or use OPK, so I have to rely on the RE's bloodwork.
