    Question Progesterone suppositories question

I am starting my 4th clomid/HCG/IUI cycle (3rd IUI was a BFP but ended in m/c at 5 weeks) and RE has started me on progesterone supp. I was on them in all three of the other attempts but I didn't start them until after IUI. This time he had me start them today (cd3) 2x/day. Everything I've ever read says prog. shouldn't be used until after "O". Anyone else ever do prog. supp. this early in the cycle???

    Hi,
I have done progesterone suppositories early in a cycle for FET, but not for an IUI. Did you question it to your Dr? If you really have doubts then I would ask. Good Luck!!

No, I didn't question it. I did double check with RE & the nurse to make sure I was understanding them correctly-that I was to start them this soon but didn't ask why so early. I know, I should have asked. Normally I question everything-not sure why I didn't this time. I'll definitely ask why next time I'm there.
I've never been through FET so have no idea what all is involved-what is the reason for starting prog. early in a FET cycle?

Lol...to tell you the truth I don't know why they do progesterone so early in an FET. I just did what they told me....I didn't know any better. Good Luck on your IUI. Any idea when your insemination will be? Mine will be Tues. and Wed....I think.

My fingers will be crossed for you!! Let me know what they say about the Progesterone. I'd be curious to know.

I'll start clomid (200mg) tomorrow (cd5-9), u/s on 9/25, hopefully HCG 9/26 or 9/27, IUI 28th or 29th. I'm excited to be trying again but nervous about m/c again. RE has put me on baby aspirin this time so who knows.
Good luck with your insemination! Babydust!!!

    Thanks!!
Why did the RE put you on baby aspirin? What is that supposed to do? I will keep my fingers crossed for you that everything goes smoothly and you have a BFP!!! Does your RE do your insemination 2 days in a row? Mine does. Just curious if other ones do to.

    Sending sticky Vibes to you!!!

The baby aspirin was because one of the tests he did came back positive. It indicated that I would be more at risk for toxemia in 2nd or 3rd trimester. It's not severe enough to prescribe heparin, just the baby aspirin once a day.
My RE only does one IUI per cycle. It seems about 50/50 whether RE's do 1 or 2.

It may seem 50/50, but according to the studies you have a better chance at getting pregnant if you do 2. Someone also told me that there is a higher success rate with IVF and IUI's between Oct. and Dec. Something to do with Nature and the biological clock. It's close to Oct. so maybe we'll get lucky...lol. Keep me posted. I will let you know how my IUI goes and when it actually happens. I go in tomorrow for b/w and u/s again.

    Baby Dust!!!
