    Last IUI doing IVF next

    Hello everybody
This is my 5th cycle of injectables and IUI. If this will not work than I will I am going to do IVF next. Every cycle I have six and more large follicles, but it does not work. This time I have 9 large follicle, but I have very little hope. Today I have discussed my doctor next step and he told me that he agrees with me regarding IVF. So now I just have to clear my insurance issue (my insurance covers it). I wonder if somebody else is going through the same thing as me.

Gina I'm on my 3rd IUI 2dpiui. We will move to IVF if this does not work. I had good follies also but the previous 2 IUI's did not work. Our previous plan was 4 IUI's but if this cycle does not work, I will not have time to do the 4th because the IVF starts in June with my RE. I thought we could do it at any time but no. I hope this is the one for you and me. Are you still doing injections or are you in 2ww?

Hi Gina and Jan... I am on cd3 of my 4th IUI.. I am doing Bravelle as the injectible.. on my previous cycles, I had 2 - 4 mature follicles.. but no success. My RE wants me to do atleast 2 more IUI cycles with injections.. and then move on to IVF.. My insurance does not cover infertility treatment.. so I was hoping/praying I get pg thru the next IUIs... otherwise we will have to dish out some big $$$s...

Good luck to both of you on your cycles

    Good Luck Gina...

I did post you about possibility of undetected immune issues that can cause "unexplained" IF.. I'm sure your RE has done many of these tests already though since you are gearing up to IVF next.

Hopefully you'll not have to worry about moving on to IVF... : --and good luck!

Jen I am still on injectables (for another day or two). This time my legs and lower part of my body hurts a lot. My RE increased my dosage I used to be on 150 Gonal-F now I am on 300. Now I have 9 follicles, but I really doubt it will work.
    Good luck to everybody,
    Gina

Good luck Gina. It must be very frustrating.... I myself want to move to IVF (I'm 39) but RE wants to try a few IUIs first.

I've heard of many women not having success with IUI but having it with IVF. So try to think positively.

And I've certainly seen siggies with many IUI-BFNs, with a BFP on number 7 or 8. I don't know how they stick it out so long.

Let's hope 5 is your lucky number.

    Thanks Tia!
My last IUI is on Thursday and than if it does not work --it will be IVF! Now I have 10 follicles. Crazy ha! I know people who had one or two and they scored and here I am. I forgot to mention 5 of them are 20.
    Thank you for your support

    Hi Gina,
I have had 2 failed IUI's so have decided to do Ivf/ICSI. I responded well to the Bravelle injectibles each time I produced atleast 4-6 eggs but the IUI's failed. I am 43 years old so I believe the more aggressive tx will work and luckily dh's insurance covers for the drugs and Ivf. I was approved for a 3rd IUI but feel that if two failed why would the 3rd one work and have no time to waste. I wish you and every lady that posted here much luck. Hopefully I can start to cycle in June I decided to take 2 months off to get emotionally prepared for the tx. Take care.

Good Luck, Gina! I sure hope this works for you this time. You have a good number of follicles, so keep your fingers cross! For me, I took April off and will go back to the RE on the 24th for the baseline and b/w. This will be my 3rd IUI and it will also be my last before IVF. Keep your head up! Best of luck!
    -Ashley
