Painful breasts - Clomid side effect?
I had my first cycle last month (Clomid + IUI with Ovidrel shot). My period is usually every 25-28 days. I had IUI on day 13 of my cycle. I did home pregnancy test on 15th day after IUI and it was negative. On day 31st I got my AF. I did not start second cycle with Clomid and IUI, because I have ovarian cyst from previous cycle. I usually have AF symptoms (especially painful breasts), which start right after ovulation approximately 15-16 day of the cycle, but in this cycle I didn't have any symptoms. Right after I got my AF (on 2nd or 3rd day) my breasts become painful. It is now 12 day after I got my AF and my breast still painful. Can this be side effect of Clomid? My breasts feel like I will have my period in a few days!
Any thoughts?

I'm not sure, but my breast pain (or lack there of) changed forever after I started tx. I always had sore breasts during tx. I used to have sore breasts during my cycles when I wasn't cycling but I don't anymore.
Everything seems to change. Sorry I'm not of more help.

Clomid can stay in your body for 50+ days, so it could be the Clomid.
I rarely experienced sore breasts until tx. I am on a natural cycle after a m/c and have no sore breasts even though I O'd 2 weeks ago, so it looks like my cycles went back to normal fast enough. It's different for everyone. It does sound like the wrong time in your cycle for soreness. Might have something to do with elevated prolactin levels. You should discuss your symptoms with your doctor. |

I was told by RE that Clomid can alter your cycle for up to 6 months after going off of it. My symptoms are the same on the Clomid or off... Sometimes I have painful breasts - sometimes I don't - no real consistency... Think it differs for everybody. I would ask doc if the pain doesn't go away or gets really bad...
