New cycle in a few days...... BCP ??

Hey everybody, well, I am almost through my BCP's and have a couple of questions. First, since they trigger, I usually have to have my cycle triggered by progestrone pills for a week to make them come on.... will this be the case with being on the BCPs?? Or since I am taking BCP will my cycle just come naturally. Second, I do not know if I am even in the game, as my cysts were so big my RE thought that I would have to be on the bench for two months. We will see. Have anybody been benched for more than one cycle due to cysts??

We are looking at IVF, but the wheel are just starting to turn on that, so have strated the paperwork and appointments for all the prep test, etc. We decided to keep IUIing until all of that is through, then take a one month rest cycle, then do two cycles of IVF.

Of course, all of this will stop when we get our BFP!!!

Last question, I have a good record of all the dates of cycles, but not the exact E2, follicles, etc. I called my RE and they want a release for me to see my own file?? Does this seem right to anybody? I just want to see my file..... I did find out that they have not done all of the tests appropriate to find the cause of IF.... not very happy about that.

Sorry the message is so long, but lots of questions as I am warming up the bench.......

As always, thanks.....

Hi Kris,
Sorry I can't help with the BCP and cyst questions as I'm pretty new to all of this.

Just wanted to let you know that signing a release to see your medical records is not that unusual. Clinics and hospitals must adhere to very strict privacy laws, so they are probably just covering their A**! I've had the same experience.

What tests haven't they done?

best wishes, Nan

The one that is a biggie was the CD3 b/w tests. They never did that one. I guess that will show the quality of the follicles.

Kris,
I would think that you would be able to start your new cycle on your own, but our bodies are a mystery and do not always do what they are suppose (or what we want them to do). Are you going in for u/s soon to determine if the cysts are gone?? As for your file, yes, that is protocol. It's something called H.I.P.P.A (can't remember what it stands for, being an EMT, I have to advise my patients of this law...and it IS very strict). I hope now they will do the CD3 b/w especially now that they know that you know they didn't do all the tests. It's really a good think you've kept good records of your cycles and such. That is always a big help for any changes in your treatments. I hope all goes well and you're off the bench very soon!!!

Take care
Tea~*

My cycle usually comes on its own following BCP. If no BCP then I need the course of progesterone, but the withdrawl from the BCP will usually cause shedding. As a nurse, we usually refer to it as the "HIPPA monster" because it is such a pain in the butt! But, its the law now, so we have to do it.

Good Luck!
