Hi Gals of the Frozen clan:
Some DIUI success tips, based on my "Research"
[easier to do these tips, if you are having IUIs done at home]
1. Consider doing 2 vials at one insem session....surely having a higher # of sperm and/or motile sperm will increase chances.
2. Consider asking clinician if you can hold insem catheter and/or syringe next to your body right BEFORE it draws up the seed. If it is, say, body temp, it is more hospitable to sperm. Okay, Okay! So, I learned about cow and pig insemination on an Aggie web-site
3. Avoid taking a bath for about 2 days after any insem...(shower is better). Sperm, even if IUI'd, apparently prefer living in vagina. So, if they camp out there, you wouldn't want to wash em out.
4. (Ok, bare with me on this)....consider inducing an orgasm immediately after sperm is inserted...without penetration, of course. The orgasm works to 1. tilt the uterus, 2. suck up the liquid.
5. If using syringe w/o doctor's help, and therefore one that you had to wash out, never get sperm in contact with water. It can be lethal to sperm. (so, make sure it is completely dry).
****I'm taking my own advice on these...Any other thoughts?
