My RE has me coming in 12dpiui. Isn't that way too early? I'm worried that the HCG from my booster shot will be in my system and I'll get a false positive, but I'm also worried that it's too early and I'll get a false negative.
I should say that one of the reasons I'm worried about a false positive is that if it is positive I will need IVIG treatments. (about $1600 per month for 3 months) Insurance doesn't cover it. I don't mind, if this is a viable pg. But if it's just the trigger shot I'm going to be really mad if I spend $1600. I'm worried about the false negative because I need the IVIG if I'm pg. I did one of those cheapy tests that you buy on line from Canada today. I am peeing every 30-60 minutes because of the progesterone and there wasn't much "stream" (sorry, TMI). Definitely didn't pee on it for 10 seconds. Anyway, there was a very faint second line. These tests are supposed to be very sensitive and say that they pick up HCG as low as 20. So, I'm pretty sure that there's alot of the trigger shot still in my system. I'm going to do another one in the morning to see if the line gets ligher or darker. Do you think that I should wait until 14dpiui to get my blood test? Thanks for reading this long message. Jen.

Hi Jen,
I believe it takes about 10 days for the HCG to get out of your system so you are right on the edge there. Why not see if you can push your beta out a little if you are nervous about it? Another thought is that when you have the beta they will measure the AMOUNT of hcg not just whether it is present or not. So, they will know by your beta number if it's a true BFP or residual HCG. Best of luck - let us know what happens. Lisa |

I agree with Lisa with a number they will probaby be able to tell if it is residual or a pg.
Was your booster 10,000 or 5,000 units. I thought boosters were usually 5,000 so it would be gone in about 5 days. My RE has me come in 14dpiui but a couple of times I have asked it be 12dppiui due to scheduling and he said it would still be accurate. Fingers crossed that is a true BFP. Beth ttc #2
