Question Unicef Position Papers?

Hi!

Does anyone here have a link to the unicef position papers on inter-country adoption? I remember reading two separate documents (and feeling sick to my stomach afterward) at least a couple of years ago. I wanted to pass the links along to a friend who is working on a presentation on unicef and why we shouldn't support it, but I can't seem to find them. I'm sure that she'd appreciate links to anything giving concrete information about unicef and their involvement with stopping/slowing inter-country adoption.

Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion Darci!

I searched there but didn't find what I was looking for. I also searched the unicef site, but I apparently didn't find the right set of search terms to produce what I'm looking for. I know that they are (or at least were) on the unicef site, but I can't find them.

Take care!

Here is the report we did in 2007, a dated but it does reference their documented positions.

Families Without Borders

Here is a link to their official position, gotta love rights of child is LAST
UNICEF UK position papers and policies

Another UNICEF position paper:
UNICEF - Press centre - UNICEF's position on Inter-country adoption

Here is a link to Elizabeth Bartholet's abstract and you can down load her position paper from there
SSRN-International Adoption: The Human Rights Position by Elizabeth Bartholet

Here is a link to their Guatemala info, including touting what little they do there as great stuff. Their first bullet point is the money ther president and his staff took off with, if I am not mistaken. They tout the Hauge at the end... notice they don't say if any of these loft goals are being met.
UNICEF - At a glance: Guatemala - Background

Finally an article that is recent... it is a bit slanted towards UNICEF but is thought provoking, especially the comments.
Guatemala restarts international adoptions

Hope that all helps.
