On Tuesday, I was driving to work on a semi-rural road, and all of a sudden I saw a deer run onto the road - 2 seconds later she plowed right into the side of my truck. Fortunately, I was fine, and she died quickly so she did not have to suffer. It was very traumatic for me though - I don't have problems with people who hunt and kill deer, but I could never do it myself, and I love animals way too much to see them hurt or suffering.
Then last night when we were trick or treating, I took a nasty spill. We were leaving a house and the kids had run down through the yard - I also cut down through the yard, which sloped downward. The people had their leaves all piled up and the curb and I didn't know where the curb was. I was watching the kids and probably not paying much attention, and when I hit the curb I think only the back part of my heel was on the curb and I started falling forward. I took several large, lunging steps forward trying to stop the fall, but to no avail. I fell forward, with most of my weight coming down on my shoulder. (However, I know that I did look very graceful throughout the whole process
) My shoulder is very sore, and I am now trying to decide if it is just "sore" or if there could perhaps be something wrong. Here's hoping for a better week this week!

hugs for your rotten week. things can only go up!! we have lots of deer in our area and I was worrying about my teens popping one, but so far so good, just abi and that other car so far. btw, she's back on the road, a bit wiser for the world. are you trying motrin on a regular basis for your shoulder? the anti-inflammatory effect will kick in if you are doing it every 4-6 hrs for a few days and may help. I know that's what I'd have my kids doing, and what they offered my dad for his tree incident.
