Where does the time go? Today we managed to pick up the last report from our SW, drive to our state capital for apostilles, had a picnic lunch on the lawn of the capital building (gorgeous day!), walked across the street to make copies of colored photo sheets to go with the reports, and proceded to drive home to our postoffice to priority mail it to our agency. Whew! Took us almost 4 hours in total to accomplish it all, but it's our last one! We are officially done!
A asked me today to talk about our names. Our girls' middle names come from me and my sister (or in other words, Mama's side of the family), last name from Daddy, and first name all their own and theirs since the day they were born. They love to hear about the origins of their names and they laugh at their Russian names and love to hear about their Russian nicknames. A asked if I will take her to her birth city soon to see her babyhouse. I asked if she wants to see the actual babyhouse or to see her doctor and teacher there - and she mostly wants to see the people who cared for her. My dh has no desire to go back, but I can't wait!I was going to push for him to come, but my brother, Uncle Bill, has asked to come along! It would be a great trip as I know he is a wonderful traveler - very calm and go with the flow kind of guy (an asset when traveling in Russia for sure!
) It is still some years away, but I'm counting down. Next I need to renew A's Russian passport and inquire on any complications on taking her back. I was recently told that she has to travel into the country on a Russian passport, but don't have much more info than that at this early date. I"m thinking it will be another 5 years before we go - when T is in second or third grade - so they will be safe with the water and will remember the trip.
I still can't believe that we are done with official documents!!!!! T's anniversary of her adoption day is on Saturday! I just can't believe it......
Love and Hugs to All My Old Friends and Newer Ones too! I've been on this BB for almost 6 years!![]()
