I am asking for someone else and I don't know how to ask this correctly without getting in trouble - do I just post a link to the other bb?
She wants to know if the foster moms usually breastfeed the babies.

My two were bottle fed.
When they reached a certain age, they began mixing rice cereal in the formula...they had to cut a large hole in the nipple of the bottle so it would flow!!Darci

FT does not allow cross posting of links... so please don't do that

As for BF.... I would say 99.9% of Guate kids are bottle fed and the ones that are BF are probably doing it secretly and telling AF that they are bottle fed. Most attorney's tell families what formula they provide and pay for it so the general assumption is bottle feeding is the norm. if she is thinking about Adoptive BF that is very possible if they child can learn to latch (I know several mothers that have done it with and without supplementers)... but she needs to take care to not be too disappointed if it doesn't work.Wife to Tim, Mommy to 2 Guatemalan blessings

Thanks! Her dd just started latching on after being home for 5 months. Out of the blue! She was wondering if the foster mom had bf'ed, and that's where her dd learned how.

hi pepper not from what i ahve heard but i guess it is a remote possibility. I didnt try with Ivy but she used to suck on my shoulder like that and has always been into boobs and BF so if i had pursued it she may have. I knwo a few people that have done adoptive breastfeeding she may want to look into that if it interests her i know some on this board and PAA have done it.
Hugs
