Hi Guys!
I have not been on the boards as much as I have wanted to getting ready for this Guatemala trip and putting together our dossier- like a MAD WOMAN, just ask Susanne (SMS!)
I finally feel like we are offically "in waiting" mode. I am really getting excited about the trip and being back in Antigua. For all of you that has donated to this trip from this board, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I have thank-you's being sent out this week. We are now up to about 6 orphanages that we will be visiting and we have been collecting medicines to be taken for Dr Montiel- I am so excited to see him again.
I have been thinking about how cool it would be if we were actually there and get a referral!! How amazing would that be!
Bennett has been doing WONDERFUL. After the last year and being in and out of the hospital, we are so grateful that he is perfectly healthy with no recurrences of ANY seizure activity in his arm or the rest of his little body. The doctors truly think that it was a slight malfunction that just happened and cant be explained. They took him off of his trileptol and he is still taking one med, however he is in the lowest theraputic range.
He is in the 98th percentile for height, 85% for weight- he is so healthy and SO BIG!!! Our ped wants to keep him on his one med for at least the next year, since he has had absolutely no side effects, even drowsiness.
He started pre-school 2 half days a week, which I was really concerned about doing this early, but HE LOVES IT!!! Every morning he wakes up and asks if he gets to go to school! I feel good that we made the right decision. They opened up a Primrose here in our city, I know they are popular in other big cities, and that is where he is going. He is just thriving.
We ask him if he is ready for a sister and he responds with "Uh huh!" not sure if he knows exactly what he is agreeing to yet!
Anyhow, I wanted to give an update. I have a special prayer for all of us in waiting, I am checking constantly to see who has gotten the call. I am praying that all of us get our precious babies home soon.
Blessings to Come!
Amy
