I'm 29 weeks 1day. This pregnancy is flying for me. I have 4 and 2 year old sons, daughter on the way. Our last too. It literally bring me to tears to think of how far we have come since our first consult starting IVF 5 years ago. I was so terrified and now feel so overwhelming blessed. Hope you all are enjoying the holiday season!

Did anyone opt to do the genetic blood testing early in your pregnancy? I have two daughters and we did it for my second because I had some high markers based on the first trimester screening. We didn’t do PGS and I’m leaning toward having it done. DH isn’t so sure. I would rather know if there was something to prepare ourselves.
    Me: 28, no known issues
DH: 28, CBAVD (CF carrier, no vas deferens)

    Our TTC Journey:

TTC naturally for a year, DH was diagnosed with CBAVD in December 2013

January 2014: TESE on DH, 4 frozen vials to use
    1/6/14: Started Lupron 10 units
1/22/14: Follistim, Menopur and continued Lupron 5 units
    3/3/14: Trigger!
    3/5/14: ER!

I did the genetic test blood work. We had confidence there was nothing to worry about but like you, I wanted to prepare just incase we were wrong. Plus side, we found out the sex of the baby early.

Pb2014, I am at 11weeks and have an appt tomorrow with high risk ob. I am going to ask for the blood work, but I am unclear how it will work with twins. We never did PGD. I am 40 now, and husband is 47. These twins will be our first, up until now, we have only had miscarriages. If there is something wrong, I would want to know, to prepare. My husband is currently working overseas and will not be back until January. If the test can reveal the gender of both babies, we will ask for that information to be given to us together.

By the way, patientone, tell your husband congrats on his retirement. I retired last year. I did continue to work on base but quit right before this last FET. I am so happy I will have the ability to stay home with these babies!! My husband is a contractor but his work takes him overseas a lot. He did not retire.

I will tell him. Of the blood work comes back with no Y chromosome then they are both girls. If there is a Y it's just saying at least one of them is a boy. I forget what I read about someone who was expecting twins.

He retired but will finish his degree and work if when he feels like it. For now babies will stay in daycare.

Good luck with your incoming US.
