Anyone have Factor 5 Leiden Mutation?

Does anyone here have Factor 5? My RE is testing me for it. Alls I know it has to do with clotting problems--I think.
SHould I have it is there treatment for it to allow a successful pregnancy? do women use Heparin for it? Any info helpful for me..as Im clueless.
I wont get the test results back for another 2 weeks.

Hi Ann. I don't have it, but I know it's treated with heparin (Lovenox), and maybe also aspirin.

I think you should definitely get the testing done if your RE suspects it's an issue. It's pretty successfully treated for pregnancy, and it's important to know just in general because having the gene puts you at risk of clots, pulmonary embolism, and deep vein thrombosis (like Dr. House's leg!).

I'm certain your GP will want to know if this is found, too.
