Has anyone tested + for anticardiolipin antibodies and/or compound heterozygous MTHFR

I used to think MTHFR was an acronym for a bad word. Now I found I have it as well as testing positive for ACA. I feel like I have been hit with a double whammy. Does anyone have one or both of these? For my upcoming FET I will be put on Lovenox or Heparin depending on insurance as well as Folgard. I picked up my prescription yesterday and got Folcaps instead. Has anyone heard of these? Should I make a switch? The side effects seem scary! It says I may not be able to operate machinery! I may also need to be on this the rest of my life. Anyone else? Just looking for a little knowledge, comfort, advice from someone in my shoes......

Marnie

Hi Marnie,
I have + ACA and hetero MTHFR C677T. The lovenox isn't bad except get used to bruising. I opted not to do the Folgard or Folvee and go to a highly asorbable form of Folic Acid. I also take baby aspirin daily. I know nothing of folcaps. Maybe someone else does. GL with your FET!

Thanks poohbear! May I ask what form of folic acid you are taking? Are there any side effects?

Hi Marnie,
I'm taking a metagenics brand of folate. I haven't seen any side effects but you have to take more than the prescription strength. I get my other B vitamins in my multi but I think the idea is to balance the folate with the B12 and B6.
