overwhelmed
I just had an appointment with Dr. Kwak because all my tests were back.
1. not much blood is getting to my uterun lining which can cause issues with implantation. 2. I do have a blood clotting disorder called factor 13 - so I have to be on BA for the rest of my life and lovenox for my cycle. (anyone else have factor 13 or know anything about it?) 3. I have slightly elevated PAI-1 so I am taking a very low dose of metformin (helps with egg quality) and change my diet. I guess PAI-1 is a precurser to elevated insulin which is a precurser to elevated glucose. Type 2 diabetes is on both sides of my family so it makes sense. Also a blood clotting issue 4. Thyroid this year has ranged from 2.8-3.8 so on very low dose of synthroid. 5. Slightly elevated NK killer cells so she wants me to do IVIG but if insurance will not cover it will try higher dose of pregnisone. Yikes I cannot believe all the stuff I have to do. I am pretty sure my insurance will not cover IVIG and I would probably only be able to afford 1 IVIG. Anyone heard of treating slightly elevated NK cells with pregnisone?

Barge,
Sdeut, I have heard of treating it with prednisone although not done routinely here because prednisone has it's own set of side efects. I have used intralipid infusion v. IVIG for elevated nk. It cost me $105.00 and a $15.00 co-pay. You might want to ask your doctor as it's certainly worth a try. There was no way we could afford IVIG and there are risks from that too. I don't know much about Factor 13. I take lovenox 30 mg 1x a day in my 2ww for anti-cardiolipin antibodies which can cause clotting problems as well as baby aspirin. Wishing you good luck! |
