How often & when do you re-test?

I am just curious....

How often do you repeat the NKa/RIP (millenova) lab tests?

We had them run two years ago prior to our only successful IVF cycle - for which I was treated with IVIg/Intralipids. As far as we could tell, the NK cell activity/cd56+ were the only things hindering us (12.5%). We have no other identified issues.

I am really serious about trying (on our own) for awhile, but want to know what my levels are at. Do you think it is worth it?

Sorry you had no reply...
teacher, I guess the idea that the proof would be in the pudding could work if you were just going to try on your own, but it'd likely be niggling in the back of your mind if you should re-test.

I think for the sake of going thru Millenova or even the Alan Beers Centre and getting the blood drawn, fed-ex'd and tested, this cost may be worth the peace of mind and knowing what you are going in to for ttc'ing in the next while.

You may be in for a pleasant surprise as sometimes NKa levels balance out on their own, but sometimes they may rise again once ttc;ing or conception happens (this is the drawback with immune issues and what sometimes makes them unidentified -they get masked in times when you are not actively ttc'ing or not conceiving and flare up again when the ttc'ing /conceivign starts! )

I hope you end up successful whichever route testing or not testing that you go...
regards,
Ally

I'm planning on a retest in the fall with Millenova to see what my status is. But like Ally said, the NKa levels usually go up in pg, so just because they're normal when you are not, doesn't mean they'll stay there if you get pg on your own.

That's the big rub right now for me. I'm almost 40. I'd like to try again, but I really didn't want to have to do *all* of that stuff again, KWIM? But I know that's a better than 80% chance it'll have to be that way.

Sigh. I just wish I could have a candlelight dinner, followed by an uneventful NINE months (besides all this immune stuff, I had incompetent cervix, preterm labor, bed rest AND gestational diabetes - and my daughter was born almost 5 weeks preterm).

C'est la vie, though!
