Rash from IVig

I was wondering if anyone has experience a rash from IVIg? I had a treatment done on Tuesday and now on Thursday I woke up with a rash of half tiny red pinprick bumps, and half almost colorless bumps. They are primarily on my arms and legs. I am wondering if this is from the IVIg, or if it is something else. Any info would help.

Hi,

Just checkin up on you. How's the rash? Did the prednisone help?

The rash is better but it is definitely still here. I was already on prednisone, and they upped my dose for 5 days but now the 5 days is up and I am worried that it is going to get worse again. Thanks for checking in.

lachance,
What did your dr say? I'm scheduled to do intralipid, not IVIG. Does the rash itch? Hope you feel better!

Rash From IVIG

HI
Yes, I did experience a BAD rash which could have been from IVIG. If I recall correctly, my rash started after the second IVIG. It began as small red and white bumps on the back of my arms and thighs. It became much worse and spread all over my body except for my face. It lasted until the end of my 1st trimester. NOne of my Dr's or anyone at the Beer Clinic had ever heard of a rash from IVIG. I am convinced it was from the IVIG. However I was also on Prednisone and Humira. I stopped the Prednisone around the time the rash occurred. It could have been from that as well. I believe I stopped the Humira when the heartbeat was detected.
I found no one to help with the rash. Finally a Dermatologist prescribed a very gentle body wash and cream (DHL Cream) which did calm it a bit. It became very dry and very very itchy especially at night.

I hope your's does not get as bad!
