Have your cytokine (TH1/TH2) levels increased?

Hi,
I tested high (38.2/26.6) before any IVF treatment for my TH1/TH2. With my 1st fresh cycle, I took Enbrel and the numbers went down to normal.
With my next frozen cycle, I took Enbrel again and now my numbers are even higher! They went up to 55.7/36.1 So my doctor is recommending that I cancel the cycle and get intralipid IVIg as planned and then re-test.
Do you know what could increase cytokine levels? Diet-am I not eating healthy enough? Stress? Exercise?
I am really disappointed about canceling given all the shots and meds I've been on Thanks for any info you might have.

oh sorry to hear that the cytokine levels spiked on you..
it is something I've heard can commonly occur -it is like a rebound effect from the Enbrel - and yes, sometimes just double dosing the IVIg will help and other times the spike in cytokines could be indicative of a suppressed infection in your system...
since that treatment route would be to investigate high dosages of antibiotics and are not always the same effectiveness with all women, you may just want to try with the IVIg and / or give some time for your body to calm down with the Enbrel. Also, will your doc be recommending prednisone for the upcoming cycle? a lot of times prednisone /dexamethasone can be a missing ingredient for prg. success especially with IVF transfers.

take care and keep us posted kay?
Ally
