success???thrombophelia - PAI 1 homo?

Hello;
I am new to the board and looking for anyone with success stories with a homozygous gene for PAI 1 4g/5g. I am also heterzygous for mthfg, fibrinogen and factor VIII. All other testing was negative.
My RE is now going to put me on heparin, asa and folgard for next frozen embryo transfer next month.,
I have had 3 m/c all at about 6-7 weeks... I am also 40 years old. My RE tells me my embryos look great., so I am sooooo hoping that m/c is related to the blood clotting issues.\
Any one else have these issues and going through this or with success?? I would love to hear from you.
I am so nervous that I may have another m/c, but still hold out hope that the heparin may be my answer...
Good luck to all

Karen

canoegirl,
sorry no replies to your post...

I'm very hopeful for you that the blood clotting issues are at fault for the other m/c and that you will now have success... the heparin and baby aspirin combo has worked before and yet you could also ask for implementing some heavier duty immjune meds like prednisone or even a dosage of IVIg after transfer especially just b/c of your costs and the fact that it may be an extra reassurance to you..
take care and please update us okay?
Ally

Yes, my success is now two years and two months old - a bright, beautiful girl!

I had everything you had PLUS elevated natural killer cells (and my inhibin B was a not-very-good 15). My protocol was (let's see if I can remember all this)

baby aspirin
fish oil
lovenox through pregnancy (ex. delivery week, heparin, then back on lovenox after delivery for 6 weeks)
IVIg (40g every 3.5 weeks til 18 weeks)
5mg folic acid every day (still do!)

I also had a scanty lining and history of adhesions, so I used Estrace (2mg estradiol) daily for 5mos. preconception, and vaginal viagra for the immediate preceeding 2 weeks prior to the trigger shot. I used GonalF b/c of the estrace use. We did IUI, conceived three!

I lost the first at about 5w, and then the second at 8.5w and kept my daughter.

My cervix opened up at 23 weeks and I had a cerclage to stitch it shut, which was removed at 34 weeks. I had betamethasone steriod shot (mature baby's lungs) and procardia (stop preterm labor) and bed rest/limited activity. And gestational diabetes~

My daughter was born 4.5 weeks early, but a healthy 6lbs 4.5 oz. She had jaundice but did not spend any time in the NICU. I had an unmedicated delivery that was fast and really amazing. Baby nursed like a champ (since I'd had no anesthesia) despite being a preterm infant. She can now, accurately, refer to herself as "mommy's miracle".

I was 37 at the time. I'm 39 now and considering doing it again in the fall (I'll be 40).

Keep it up! You'll get there!
