Question re Lovenox Dose

Hello there,

I was diagnosed as being homozygous for MTHFR and will be starting Lovenox for the first time this cycle (I'm doing injectibles and IUI). Has anyone else done this protocol? I'm worried because my hematologist has me on 60mg of Lovenox once a day from around CD6 through the 2ww. Then, if I'm pregnant, she'll up my dose and put me on Lovenox twice a day and they'll start monitoring me, etc. to see if I need to adjust the dose. I'm worried that 60 mg right now is too high. What do you think? Thanks so much for any help! I'm so nervous about this. I hate doing the Repronex shot every day. I can't imagine adding another shot to the mix. For those who did the Lovenox with other shots, did you do it at the same time or at a separate time? Thanks again, in advance, for your help. These boards are really great!

P.S. I think Lovenox is based on weight, so I figure I should mention that I'm around 123 lbs. Thanks again!

Sounds fine.. most RE's start out the heparin around 50mgs so you are not at a very much higher rate and maybe the RE has always prescribed at that level...

In any case I would suggest doing the shots one in the a.m. and one in the p.m. if you are worrying about "double shots" at one time...

I think the meds together will not affect each other or cause any reactions. It is always a bit intimidating taking the meds for the first time round but you will get used to it and won't mind it one wee bit if there is a nice tum poppping out there in a month's time!
