Not the same

I wish someone had told me that even if you've handled hundreds of negatives from IUIs and natural cycles like they were no big deal, you might feel pretty angry after your first negative IVF cycle. There's a whole lot more at stake and it's just different. Go for it, girls... just prepare yourself with a few ways to let off some steam if it doesn't work. And no, other infertiles who get pregnant on their first IVF will NOT quite understand.

I COMPLETELY agree.

I thought my first IVF scientifically made sense. I had a GF that had just gotten pg after her first IVF too, with twins. So I figured that this procedure bypassed all of my ttc efforts on every level. To me, there was no way it couldn't work.
It felt like the rug was pulled out from under me for sure. After that, I knew real fear, and I never trusted whole heartedly any other procedure. I also had no idea how much farther I would have to stumble down this long and winding road. (6 yrs total).
All I can say is follow your gut instincts, try to make the best decisions that you can along the way and don't give up!
God bless and good luck.
