Good Quality Eggs Info

I am 34 and going through my first IVF. All outward signs up until this process showed I was very healthy and fertile aside from tubal factor. I had regular cycles, glowing results on hormone tests, etc... Well come to find out during my first baseline ultrasound I had small endometriomas on each of my ovaries. They also like to call them chocolate cysts, which I guess is to make it sound more palatable. Anyway, my RE said that shouldn't be a problem, but let's get started right away before the cysts grow anymore.
After my eggs were retrieved (24!!!) I found out the next day they were not good quality, and I thought to myself, "How could this be?!?!?" It turns out these little cysts I didn't even know I had, were diminishing my egg quality.
So after some research, I realized what I should have done is taken a 3 - 6 months to work with an acupuncturist to shrink my cysts and bring my eggs up to good quality. Many people have a misbelief that there is nothing that can be done about egg quality, but that is simply not true. I still have hope that my less than perfect embies will make at least one beautiful baby with the help of my acupuncturist to keep the cysts small and my sanity in tact.

Lesson: Take 3 - 6 months with an acupuncturist who specializes in fertility before beginning an IVF cycle to ensure the health of your eggs and balance of body and mind. Even if you think you are an "easy, no problem" candidate.
