The little things

These are a few things that I have learned along the way. I shared them with another board I belong to and quite a few of my friends had NO idea.

* Do NOT use lubricants. They will kill sperm! Use Preseed, it is sperm-friendly.

* Saliva kills sperm as well. It is best to avoid oral sex altogether during your fertile times.

* Don't clench! Immediately after BD, it is natural to clench your muscles, but you can push a lot of the semen (and sperm!) out. I have to force myself not to do this.

Actually, you might not have to buy the expensive Pre-seed product. I called our clinic and specifically asked which lubricant they recommended and they said to use plain mineral oil (you get it at a regular drugstore- often with the laxatives). I go to one of the best and largest clinics in the nation, so I trust them. Mineral oil is much cheaper and works very well. I had bought some Pre-seed previously and we found that the tube was VERY SMALL... you'd have to be buying off the internet ALL the time and also it dried out pretty quickly. The only thing I liked about Pre-seed was the internal applicators.
