Lupron making me Loopy

Okay...I just started Lupron injections last night and I am now a complete basket case. Just had a frightful crying jag over nothing at all, and just feeling pretty down. Does Lupron make most people crazy.

In a word, yes....it's akin to instant menopause in your brain, so your horomones are out of whack so your pituitary doesn't communicate with your ovaries to make follicles.....basically you go from normal hormones to pseudo-menopause with one shot!

When DH gave me my first shot of Lupron, we were on vacation......that night, I was all weepy and upset over, I can't even remember what, it was so silly to cry about, something I'd never cry about when I'm hormonally "normal"...when I was upset I was crying over something so silly, DH reminded me it was the Lupron, not to worry about it!

I was given Lupron one month before my fibroid operation and I did feel strange. At first I was ok, but then the hot flashes started. It felt as though I was blushing bright red all over my face.

Took Lupron and was crazy. Very emotional. Had the hot flashes too and racing of the heart. Hair dropped as well. A very crazy period. I took it for 6 months after surgery for endometriosis.

my first day on Lupron was the worst. I blew hot and cold and moody till bedtime. Then when i went to bed i couldn't sleep so instead the Lupron made me sob like a bad actress for over an hour. DH just hugged me (between hot flashes) as i was absolutly beside myself over absolutely nothing. today is day three and although im tires and still a little um... warm, it's not so bad

I felt pretty ok emotionally--but was more forgetful--would lose a thought-delayed finding a word mid sentence---not helpful as I am a therapist! good luck--i wonder if a lot of calcium may help as it it good for PMS symptoms..

wow last week on lupron I was feeling and acting kind of psycho -- I thought it was just the stress. this is good to know. would have been nice if my doc had bothered to tell me.

Lupron makes me crazy as well. I am an emotional basket case, have hot flashes, can't sleep, and get headaches. I am about to start it tomorrow. I am not looking forward to it. I forgot about the insomnia until I was reading these posts. The insomnia was bad.
