I'm old (42) and my husband has poor morphology.
We did ICSI with our first cycle 38 eggs, 35 fertilized, BFP (DD born 7/07)
We just did ICSI again to TTC#2, 18 eggs, 18 fertilized, we only transferred 1 embie and BFN, but I still think ICSI is a god send!

We did ISCI with both of my IVF's because of DH's extreme sperm issues. Our 1st cycle, we only had 4 embys to transfer and now have ds almost 8. With my 2nd cycle, we had 12 embys to transfer and only used 4 of them. We now have 6 yr old twins and none of my kids have birth defects. ISCI was our only way to get pg and thank GOD everyday for our blessings. We donated the 8 that we didn't use to couple/s who couldn't conceive.

Wow!!! I'm so happy to have found some info on ICSI other then Google!!!! We were told a couple of years ago that we should do ICSI because of DH's extremely low count. After talking to our RE last year we have decided on 6 IUIs, lap and then IVF maybe with ICSI. I always wondered about this form of tx because nobody I have talked to has ever done it and I've had trouble finding info on it. Even on my own clinic's site, there really wasn't anything on it. I was shocked!! Anyway, the reason for the low count is a varicocele which is fixable through surgery. We just got the surgery scheduled for Feb 13 and then will go on to do IUI#3 after that. We have had 2 IUI's both BFN. I'm hoping to have a pos one coming soon because they are a lot cheaper. LOL I thank you all for all your info on ICSI. Good luck to everyone!!

Hi,

We did ISCI with both of my IVF's because of DH's extreme sperm issues.
i st cycle I had 14 eggs, 12 mature, transfred 3, get preg with twins, lost the babies in 25 g.s. The clinic did not frozen any of the rest embryos
Second cycle, 12 eggs, 8 mature, transfred to - BFN, 6 frozen.

Hope to get my ice cream miricale in September.

success mentioned

I'm currently pregnant with an ICSI baby! my husband has a blockage they couldnt remove so they aspirated sperm from behind it... they were plentiful and swam fine but they used icsi and we got a 90% fert rate and my little embryo stuck so it works... so far no problems and although there is a small statistical chance i've never heard of an actual problem.... i have heard some clinics get more boys than girls from icsi but thats nwither here nor there!
Good luck and keep faith while you go through this i'm a huge believer that positive thought really helps. (so is my doctor)
