TMIwarning: Need some beginner's advice

TMI Warning: I feel like an a$$ asking this but walk me thru the drill here if you don't mind. After you have the baby making sex you're supposed to put your feet up for 30 minutes?-- and then am I free to pee and shower? Is the general idea that any sperm that are going to make their way to a new home will be there by then and whatever might be lost in the toilet/shower is no longer of use? I can't freaking believe I am asking strangers this but any tips or tricks on keeping the baby batter in the oven are appreciated. ty

I hated that "dripping" feeling so we started dtd before bedtime. and i would just lay with but half propped on a pillow for an hour or so while watching tv. then go to sleep as normal. never had any leaking until you get up in the morning, then be prepared to run for it

otherwise i would use instead cups to hold it all up there, we would dtd, and i'd have the cup already open and right there beside us and pop it in directly after

check out here- this is what they are. they are called Instead Cups- in the tampon isle at target. i think you can buy them online or at other retailers. there are several brands like Diva Cup and some others like menstrual cup, the Instead are one time use and then you toss them. there were like 20 or so in the box i believe

I'm also doing the Instead cups around Ov time---but my RE has said after 20 minutes (legs elevated, you know the drill), all the sperm that are going to get in the uterus have gotten in already. The rest are outa luck. But the drippies are very disheartening when you are TTC so I use the Instead cup anyways. Someone else recently posted that she turns them wrongside out to make the cup more like a cap, a cervical cap. So I started doing this, too.

We also got 'em at Target. I've never even used them for AF....

Hi

I am so glad there are other ladies who also worry about this, I started wondering if you should go take a shower afterwards, or wait a while, although I think the sperm that needs to go, already started swimming towards the egg.

A lot of ladies said you should stand on your head for a few minutes (drastic steps) but I think a two pillows under your bum will do the trick.

LOL I had to laugh because I've been wondering the same thing, but I've also been told to either prop my legs up or not even to get up for about 30 min. Well I can't stand it because we seem to always BMS right before bed and so after I can't lay on my back for a few hours because it all runs out and up my back side. Its kinda gross!!! I'll have to look into those Instead Cups. I've been told the same thing as I have some same issues with AF. I need to go looking for them!!! Thanks for the info!! Good luck everyone!!
