High Follicle Count / E2 Levels

Hi all,
I just got cancelled from my first IVF cycle due to extremly high E2 levels and WAY too many follies. My RE said if we were to continue (I was to trigger Tuesday) that I would end up in the hospital with severe OHSS.

Anyone else experience this? Did you respond better next cycle and if so, how was your protocol changed? My RE mentioned that I would not be on Lupron the next round and my stims (Follistim) would be significantly reduced.

Anyone cycled w/o Lupron??

Guess I am just needing some success stories from other people in my shoes.....

Julie

Not sure if you have heard of prolonged coasting. If not, you might find this link of interest!

Hi you guys,

I'm going through my first cycle as well so I'm a little confused on ALOT of things.

how many follicles is TOO many? How many is not good?

i had an ultrasound today (I've been on stims for over a week and we are looking at a retrieval date of this Friday) and I have 8 follicles on one ovary and zero on the other.

Is this good or bad. My doctor says it's "average" but i feel like it's not good and i should have more to increase my chances of fertilized eggs.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!
