Advil/ibuprofen can interfere with ovulation!

I read this recently in Randine Lewis' book "the infertility cure" and I just thought I would share. SO don't take advil around O!

Good Luck and babydust to all!!!

That's good to know. Would Tylenol be okay for headaches, then?

i'm not sure if the issue is O or lining. ibuprofen is a no-no. i believe tylenol is okay for headaches and cramps any time during your cycle.

I think tylenol is okay...haven't heard anything to the contrary on it.

update on why advil interferes...

I thought since I created this post I better look up my reference and be more specific.

From The Infertility Cure by Randine Lewis:
"Even non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen can block the synthesis of prostaglandins and therefore inhibit ovulation"

I used to think Advil was the "miracle cure" for headaches, etc. I have cut it out completely b/c I have problems with ovulation. I figure why take the risk. Who knows maybe it even contributed to my problem.

The book recommends not taking ibuprofen for any pain around ovulation.
