    hemorrhoids?

Um...so at 7.5 weeks, I learned I have hemorrhoids. I thought it was too early! It was sort of frightening when I went to the bathroom today. Have you guys had them? this early?

Prenatals can make you constipated bc of the iron so make sure to start a stool softener, you can also get prenatals with one in them too. Been there done that.....

I had them before I got pregnant. I have had pretty much every symptom you can get with them. Ranging annoying, stinging slightly painful or itchy to the worst pain I've ever experienced. I have had them so badly that I have on a few occasions had to call in sick to work and spent the day in bed trembling and sobbing. I have even had to go to the DR to seek relief. Those were pretty horrible experiences but you know how bad they are if you are willing to subject yourself to that exam!

I have never been pregnant before and fortunately so far I have not had a flair up since I have gotten pregnant (yet). My sister on the other hand never had them before until pregnancy she told me that for her the pain was so bad she would have rather given birth again than suffer with hemorrhoids. I can believe it since I have had some incredibly bad episodes. I have not given birth yet so I can't say the same yet.

The best things you can do to avoid and shrink them are...
    Drink lots of water
Walk, walking will help to reduce the swelling. Avoid prolonged sitting (which is how you sometimes get them in the first place by sitting for long periods of time)
    Eat fiber, veggies and fruit
Avoid things that bind, like cheese
use Tucks pads (or just plain witch hazel on toilet paper or cotton ball works just as well if not better)
Ice, if they are very swollen... an ice cube with a piece of paper towel wrapped around it will be really helpful. You can do this several times a day.
Epson Salt - soak in a tub of warm water with epson salts or apply with a wash cloth by mix up small batches of epson salt and warm water and keeping that on the area for 10-15 minutes a few times a day. This didn't give me much immediate relief but in the long run it made them shrink faster.

I found ice and witch hazel were the two things that helped the pain the most.
I am sorry for anyone who had to go suffer with them, they can be such a terrible thing to endure.
